brian knocked “skully” out pretty good, but as you can see from the post before, he’s fine. i had him sleep in my room while he was knocked out.

as for the actual jay, he hasn’t come out. not yet, at least. this bastard told us he would eventually, but i’m not sure i believe that.

the intruder went down like a sand bag after brian hit the daylights out of him.

- another one of those masked motherfuckers. i should’ve assumed.

- “You think it’s the hacker?”

- oh, definitely. fucking creep.

brian and i stood over his body, trying to figure out what to do with him. the moon continued to shine down and cast an eerie glow over the creep’s mask.

- “Take it off.”

he pointed down at the mask. i reached down to pull it off, hesitating a moment. i hate to admit that i was terrified.

but I did what brian said.

- “Can you see them?”

- yeah, against the tree.

i turned to look at my best friend.

- i don’t like this, brian. what if it’s that fucking hacker stalker guy?

he hesitated a moment before signing back,

- “I don’t know.”

- jesus christ, i’m calling the cops. this is beyond trespassing at this point.

- “Don’t worry, if I take them by surprise, they won’t get the chance to strike.”

brian stood up and slapped his open hand with the baseball bat in a gesture of attempted menace.

i just shook my head, resigned.

- be careful. you’re all i have.

brian grabbed the door handle with his fist and steadied himself for a moment.

then, he swung the front door open with such force, before stopping in his tracks.

- who is it?

“This Was Your Own Doing,” says the mouse to the cat. “You Have Gotten Us Locked In This Cage Because Of Your Mistakes.”
