See, this, I think, is what I love about Kronk. Ā On the shallowest surface level, he fills the ālow IQ sidekickā role. Ā But ONLY on the shallowest surface level.
Iād have to watch the movie again to go into any detail, but Kronk is actually the smartest damn person IN this movie. Ā Thereās nothing he doesnāt know, heās got all this specialized knowledge, dude is probably horrifically well read. Ā Heās NOT stupid, heās just eager to please and doesnāt have a proper āNoā threshhold.
In the second gif, heās like - āNo, wait, Iām not who you think I am.ā
Then in the fourth, heās like - āOh my God, the cook is gone and sheās got all these orders. Ā If somebody doesnāt cook that up people are going to get upset! Ā Theyāll take it out on this poor woman whoās been on her feet all day and doesnāt deserve their wrath! Ā Andā¦oh my Godā¦PEOPLE WILL BE HUNGRY!ā
Then in the sixth gif heās like - āNOT ON KRONKāS WATCH!ā
Heās doing the right thing and he knows it. Ā No judgement, no condescension, just always a moment to register the task at hand, determine the most logical course of action to completing it, and then itās GO GO GO.
His only problem is that he never stops to ask himself whether this is actually his problem to solve, or whether people are taking advantage of him, and I love him for it.
I justā¦love him.
Kronk is the best hands down.
i hate like Starting Discourse but like ⦠as somebody who has seen kind of a lot of messed up posts this pride, i want to point out that inter-community violence and exclusionism is ⦠frankly inherently anti-pride. just⦠listen for a bit and if you donāt agree, thatās fine. but listen.
thereās a reason people sayĀ āno homo.ā even though we hear all the time about how weāre *special snowflakes who get special attention*, people knowĀ that this isnāt a safe community to be in. i mean belonging to it - identifying openly - is a scaryĀ thing, one that paints a target on your back. so when someone voluntarily saysĀ āthis is where i belongā, what the heckĀ am i saying when i say,Ā āno, you donāt.ā they donāt get special buttons, they donāt get hugs and kisses. people who come out get kicked out of houses, abused by parents. we knowĀ that, but we lose sight of it for some reason. i was kicked out of my schoolās lgbt+ group by some of the students because i wasĀ ānot gay enoughā. i believed it.Ā i couldnāt sayĀ āiām biā for another four years after it. i said i was straight but like, playing. i said i was straight and i went home to catholic parents and i said i was straight and i went to prom alone because the girl i loved was out of state and i said i was straight until i was nineteen and drunk and whispering āi like herā to myself in a completely dark room. i still sometimes wonder - do i belong at pride?Ā because of how much people seem to think we donāt.
and i might be alone in this but it makes me sad when people sayĀ āoh such and such an identity is taking up our space!!ā thereās not a limited amountĀ of space. that idea is something that the straight world wants us to believe, that we can only fit into this tiny little corner and thatās it. but the moreĀ of us there are, the more space we take up, the more forceĀ we have. so of course the outside community wants us to silence those whoĀ āarenāt gay enough,ā because if you have only those who qualifyĀ shouting, youāre not going to have nearly enough voices. but if all of us - and i mean every person you callĀ āfake biā, every person whoĀ ājust went through a phaseā - whatever - if allĀ of us are shouting, how much louder would that voice be? if we didnāt kick out every teenager who saidĀ āiām just experimenting,ā if we included every mom whoĀ āhad a fling in college,ā if weā¦. were togetherā¦..
those who oppose us wantĀ us to fight. divided, we are a mess, as every revolution is. they want our pride to be spent biting at each other instead of turning around and fighting. stonewall wasnāt where we fought each other. stonewall was when it finally stopped mattering, we were all angry,Ā and hurt, and willing. and that fight? thatāsĀ what started us on the path to being free. an entire tideĀ of people, all āenoughā, no matter where they fell in lgbt.
i know this: people cannot steal my identity. just in the way that stars cannot steal each otherās beauty. let them in. if you wonāt love them, send them to me. but a nation of gates and locks and tests is not a community.
do you ever associate the word āgirlfriendā with wlw so much that you forget straight boys have girlfriends
Wait what?
Straight men have WHAT NOW
Okay, reminder: privacy is cool, but if you donāt tell us, weāre gonna go to jail for a long time.
this is better than any poem a man has ever written

from now on whenever i review media that centered around a straight romance iām gonna say things likeĀ āi hope it isnāt too bold to mention that it seemed to explore themes of heterosexuality - personally, i find it an interesting choiceā andĀ āthe hetero-eroticism came on a little too strong and deterred from what i think was the intended focus of the film: finding oneselfā
āthe romance felt kinda cold and forcedā
āitās a straight film but really the story is universal? you can enjoy it despite the heterosexualityā
Men: We donāt need super hero movies with female protagonists + female directors because people wonāt like them and wonāt watch them.
Wonder Woman: Hold my beer
