Can you explain Timekeeper Cookies or something along those lines to me? My sister mentioned them and now I'm trying to understand how they fit into the lore.
Okay so Timekeeper (known in the fandom as teeper mostly) begins as an engineer known as Croissant Cookie in the Time Balance Department. Something of note is that the more Croissant Cookie's appearance changes, the closer she becomes to becoming Timekeeper.
Aptly, the Time Balance Department (TBD) manages the Cookie Run timelines- all of the numerous games are kindof canon to eachother...? Outside of each timeline is this big space-like area where untold numbers of timelines reside, but it's unclear if this is JUST alternate Kingdom timelines or timelines for every game- note that in this space there is a Core Timeline & numerous little splits that form alternative universes; alternate universes siphon a low amount of power from the Core Timeline. We first meet the TBD in Ovenbreak, Cookie Run's original game.
In ovenbreak, I believe the TBD end up involved because this big dragon guy is trying to destroy the entire world, which would also massively fuck up the timeline.
Currently, in kingdom, they're involved because Shadow Milk has split the Core Timeline and so violently destablized it that both halves are fighting for control. If Shadow Milk's timeline wins, the sheer amount of 'entropy' (a scale used here essentially to determine danger to the timeline) will collapse in on itself and essentially nuclear bomb the core timeline, which supports every other timeline, into a mass of constantly destroying itself writhing mess.
Timekeeper functions as the director of the TBD. The TBD itself is created to balance time- most of what they do at this moment seems to be trimming the Core Timeline, to keep an excessive amount of side timelines draining all of the Core Timeline's energy and destabilizing it. She is the only cookie alive excluding Shadow Milk who can freely travel the timelines & manipulate time to their will without the fancy tech the rest of the TBD has to use. This ability is important, you see, because Timekeeper coexists with Croissant Cookie in the TBD. It's also important because the director is also known for being random & vague.
This is revealed to be, essentially, future Timekeepers going back in the past to makeout homoerotically with croissan essentially change the plot of time that brings that future Timekeeper to whatever terrible situation they're in.
For example, in the current lore, Future Timekeeper comes to force Croissant Cookie to drop into Nuclear Warefare timeline, which allows Shadow Milk to access time manipulation technology. Timekeeper ends up going to the End Of Time to meet Future Teeper, and she learns in Future Teeper's world, all of the timelines have collapsed because of a certain blue twink.
As the director of the TBD, Timekeeper really does not clock in. It's unclear what she does instead of working, as she's confessed just being in a timeline can destabilize it, but whatever. There are two other organizations that fall under Timekeeper's control, SCOOP- knockoff SCP department created to manage, capture and research time anomalies- and another organization we don't know pretty much anything about because they're not released or teased yet.
that should be it i think
