Even the most observant character will only notice what they are already trained to observe.
Even the smartest character can be blind to the most obvious answer.
Sometimes plot is easy to write, but writing a realistic thought process requires acknowledging that brains are weird and individuals can't always follow plot.
FACIAL MICRO EXPRESSIONS FOR WRITERS <3
Dude. You listed like half of my muse list. That's not "specifying a muse". And I have that as a rule for a reason. How is reading comprehension so low in a reading/writing based hobby?
I know this likely depends on why you have a rule where someone can only ask for one muse at a time from you, OP, but as a multi-muse myself, it's hard for me to understand the issue.
I've got 30+ muses, and I'd be happy to have someone narrow things down for me... even if it's only a little bit. I'd take the list I was given, consider the other person's muse, and then try to figure out who from the list they gave me would work best against theirs. To me, this really feels like the best option for both of you. They get a muse from you that they're interested in, and you get to pick a muse that works well for you, too.
The chance is very good that this person you're complaining about not only thought they were being helpful by giving you options, but also thought you'd be more likely to agree to an RP if you had options.
So, if this is an RP that you're actually interested in writing, why not message them back and explain you're glad they're interested in so many of your muses, but for your own peace of mind, you'd prefer they choose just one? Although, honestly, with how your confession is worded, it sounds like you don't really want an RP with them at all...
It’s disappointing I can’t even defend myself after I deleted my account. I should’ve screenshoted the receipts the convos about this person whom I had beef with before deactivating my rp account, but this person intentionally stalked and screenshoted our convos and claimed I’m the bad person, even jumped into conclusion I godmodded and forceship with her character, and even made it public. If you’re that person, I hope you’re happy that you’re still thriving, while I ended up being depressed and frustrated, even had breakdowns and anxieties after you have made false accusations against me. You may have moved on and pretended like nothing happened, but I won’t forget and I hope you’ll lose so many friends and rp partners for what you have done to me.
Unfortunately, OP, that's usually how these kinds of people work. They count on the fact they they can torment you long enough and hard enough that you'll delete, essentially erasing everything they did. I watched it happen to a friend of mine years ago, and the methods rarely change. I'm so sorry for everything you've had to deal with. It's obviously hurt you a lot. And I'm glad you found this blog so you have a place to vent the things you're feeling.
Also - I just want to say - of course this person has moved on. They did the damage they intended to. They don't need to linger or dwell on it. People who treat other people like this do it because they enjoy it. It gives them a high to be cruel to some stranger on the internet. Usually because their own lives are lacking... It's why so many of them are repeat offenders. They don't care who they hurt, so long as it makes them feel better about themselves.
But please believe me when I say this, OP - your anger isn't hurting anyone but you. The best thing you can do is remake and move forward. Find new partners, start some great RPs, and be happy. That sort of thing annoys these kinds of people to NO END. They can't STAND to see someone who they tried to make miserable being happy instead. I know you may be at a point where moving on doesn't feel possible. But you WILL get there. You are better than the person who did this to you, and you always will be.

I love my friend a lot, but every time they get really into a game or a call, rp replies almost completely stop. Sometimes I'm perfectly fine with it, but lots of times, like the most recent incident, it kinda hurts because I'm so excited for the rps we were either about to do or were in the middle of doing, and suddenly I have to curb that excitement. But at the same time, I'm happy they're having fun, and we both can lose track of time really easily, plus we'll probably get back into it just fine later, so I'm not exactly mad either… I just wish I could complain or ask for us to do more replies without feeling like I'm hounding or shaming them…
Hey there, OP. I 100% get where you're coming from. It can be hard when it feels like the excitement you feel isn't returned. So, first off, good on you for NOT complaining or asking for more replies during those times. That's the way to do it. 100%! Also, speaking as someone who bounces around between multiple hobbies (often focusing on one to the detriment of the others) I can promise you that your partner is still excited and still loves writing with you. Their brain just has an alternative focus at the moment.
In regards to having to 'curb that excitement,' have you thought about other things you can do to hold onto it instead? There's no harm in finding another outlet for what you're feeling while you're waiting for your friend. Drabbles, maybe? Or aesthetic photo posts? Or themed Pinterest boards? What about music playlists? Or even those cute meme-y character quizzes or character designers? You've got a lot of options that might do the trick for you.
I'm sorry you're feeling the way you are, but I'm also glad to hear you understand things from your friend's perspective, too. You've got this. <3 And I promise, your friend appreciates your understanding more than they might be able to say. :)
The problem with having OCs is that sometimes you wanna read about your little guy being in situations but unfortunately he is YOUR little guy and no one is gonna put him in that situation but you. Tragic.
It is really annoying when certain blogs block a roleplay blog for no reason. If it's to create your space fine whatever. But is it weird to block blogs instead of just strolling by like a normal person? Especially when you wanna reblog from that blog because you like a gif from a fandom but you can't because a certain person wants to be petty and block for no reason. Honestly that is childish.
So... yeah. Guess I'm petty, then. Petty AND childish AND curating my own space. If I don't want you on my blog, sending me messages, etc. I sure as hell don't want you reblogging posts from me either. In fact, I'm probably doing everything reasonably possible to make sure I NEVER see your blog pop up anywhere near me. That's why blocking exists.
A decade ago, I would've thought this post was about me. LOL! I once had a falling out with some people on my RP blog. Those people then got pissy when I blocked them from my gif blog, too. They vagued about it, they got friends who weren't involved to reblog things (just to show me they could.) I even had to make posts about it on the gif blog because their antics forced me to change the things I was posting. It was... an ordeal.
So yeah, if you (collective you) purposefully cause me a problem, I'm not going to think twice about blocking. You're going on that list and you're NEVER coming off. I'm more than happy to be 'childish' if it means I don't have to see your blog in my notifications.
OP, you are not OWED that person's content. The original poster of those gifs has decided (for whatever reason,) that they don't want you interacting with their posts. Rather than calling them names, it might be healthier to just accept it and move on.
How much of an rp blog's rules do you actually read?
I'm neurotypical & I always read the page in full.
I'm neurotypical & I read most of the page.
I'm neurotypical & I read the bare minimum of the page.
I'm neurotypical & I don't read rules at all.
I'm neurodivergent & I always read the page in full.
I'm neurodivergent & I read most of the page.
I'm neurodivergent & I read the bare minimum of the page.
I'm neurodivergent & I don't read rules at all.
I'm not a roleplayer (NT) & I read the rules if I interact at all.
I'm not a roleplayer (NT) & I don't read the rules at all.
I'm not a roleplayer (ND) & I read the rules if I interact at all.
I'm not a roleplayer (ND) & I don't read the rules at all.
I selected 'neurotypical' because I've never been officially diagnosed with anything. But yeah - I ALWAYS read ALL the rules. I don't ever want to make someone uncomfy in their own space. >.<

Kinda bums me out when I'm mutual friends/rp partners with somebody and I end up cutting off one of the friends we once had in common and they slowly start inching away from me. I don't make a whole fuss about it, don't badmouth anybody to their friends, or demand they pick sides. I know people can do what they want but it's always a damn shame. Sometimes people just don't get along and don't wanna be around each other. I don't get why it's such a massive deal in the RPC.
I don't know if this will make you feel any better, OP, but there could be a couple of natural reasons for the distancing.
Just because you haven't asked anyone to pick sides, doesn't mean it won't happen. If you've voiced your issue with this person to your mutual partner, it's possible they've just decided the other person's views are more in-line with their own. Rather than make a big issue out of it, they're distancing themselves. Ideally, it would be nice if they could just tell you that and make a clean break, but those kinds of conversations can be hard, and not everyone is up to having them.
Another possibility, if you haven't voiced to the mutual partner why you cut the other person off, is the person you cut off has decided to privately share their side of the story. With only one side to go off of, it's easier to be led into believing that one person is fully 'in the right' and the other is fully 'in the wrong.'
It's also possible your mutual partner is simply worried about potential/future backlash for continuing to write with the other person. Even if you haven't given them any indication of that, past experiences can go a long way to determining how people react in various situations. Maybe they've been burned before and they're trying to give you space.
Regardless of their reasons, if continuing the friendship with them is something you want, then you might try talking to them about how you're feeling - if you think they'd be receptive, of course. :)
With all due respect, but if your character reacts to things in your reply that I moved on from already in my narration to get the story going, I will ignore it. I won't even acknowledge it in my narration. Especially if their reaction happens just to have them act edgy or to emphasize that 'they're so special' without really contributing anything important. You could have done a little note in your narration like 'little did they know that they're wrong, but that would come into play later'. That would have kept the flow more going than your character go "uhm actually…" and then also moving on. It's weird to read. But also, I think I need to get better about not packing too much into my replies myself, that is on me. But it is hard sometimes to balance a 'match length' reply and providing enough for the other to work with without dragging the situation out too long. I wanted the plot to move forward, but maybe I should have done it differently. My point stands though, not everything needs to be reacted to and sometimes you just need to let go of things when your partner tries to move on the plot. Adapt to it, or communicate with them to let them know that your muse would like to say a few things to what theirs said or did.
I kind of get where you're coming from, OP. It's true that not every little thing that happens in an RP needs to be reacted/responded to, and some people have trouble making that distinction. However - what you're saying/suggesting also sounds more than a little god-moddy to me. Why should you get to choose what's important for your partner's character to respond or not respond to? It's their character, not yours. And that's kind of what you're doing by creating something in your reply that your partner feels the need to react to, only for you to pretend like their reaction didn't happen.
If I had a partner constantly ignoring my muse's reactions in favor of rushing the story forward, I'd probably drop them.
I will say, however, kudos to you for acknowledging that you need to dial back your own replies. As someone who writes larger replies myself, I know it can be hard. But unless this really is a case of your partner replying/reacting to countless unimportant things, I think this is your best course of action for both you and your partner/s.
I remember an RP I had a long time ago where my partner had their muse do something to annoy my muse, but instead of ending the reply there to give my muse a chance to respond, they continued writing for another paragraph or two, moving the RP forward enough that it essentially eliminated my muse's ability to respond realistically. When I messaged my partner to explain the problem and ask for a bit of a retcon so my muse could reply, she got very upset and passive aggressive about things, and the RP died right there.
I guess what I'm saying is, I get both sides of this issue, but it wouldn't hurt to consider where your partner/s might be coming from, OP.

I was upset when I need to break mutuals with this person I’ve been writing for a long time because they’re interacting with this person I had drama with and made a callout against me. I had fun writing with them but I can’t have a peace of mind everytime they interact with this person because this person had damaged my reputation as a rper for wrongly accusing me for something I’ve never done before. I wish I could say a proper goodbye and tell them how I feel and explain everything, but I’m worried in the end they’ll side with the other person because they’re that popular.
I admit, OP - I don't really understand where you're coming from here. It probably comes down to different perspectives, but from where I sit, ghosting this person you claim to enjoy writing with seems like a worse choice than talking to them and letting them make a decision. If you talk to them, there's a 50-50 chance you'll still have a partner at the end of things, but by ghosting them not only are you 100% losing your partner, you're also choosing to hurt them in the process.
It sounds like you'd rather hurt them by ghosting, than risk them thinking poorly of you/'siding' against you... which I just don't get. If they side with the other person, then you haven't really lost anything more than what you're already willing to lose because of ghosting. And if they do side with you, then you know you've probably got someone you can rely on. Talking to them just feels like the optimal solution given the information you've offered.
Granted, I've never been a fan of asking people to 'choose sides,' so I'd be careful how you word anything you say. But there are absolutely compromises both of you could make if you genuinely want to keep them as a writing partner. Just be honest with them about everything.
I run a positivity blog. But no one sends anything, no one interacts with it. It's fucking sad. You're all over here to vent and gripe, but you have nothing nice to say to your partners at all? That's why the rpc falls apart.
Honestly, OP, I think part of the issue is that people like to vent and complain. It helps them let of steam, it helps them get over stuff that's happened, and it helps them organize situations in their heads. That's why a blog like COAR stays active.
Positivity blogs are a little different - and (for some of us) can have negative connotations. Blogs where all of the posts are about specific people have a tendency to turn into 'circle jerks,' if you'll forgive the expression. People are always left out and feelings get hurt. It's also harder to get reblogs, because not everyone can relate to 'So-n-so is an amazing RPer and I love them!' when they don't know who So-n-so is.
Eventually, once the blog has made the rounds in a specific RP circle, the interactions die because there's not a lot of sustainability once everyone has sent in things, and everyone else has liked/reblogged them. The only way to get that momentum back for your blog is to move on to a new circle. That's not always easy, so it can be hard to make it happen.
I think, if you want to steadily gain momentum and keep your blog going, you might want to focus on something a little less specific. Move away from naming names, and focus on general positivity posts. Encourage people to send in things that a partner did for them that made them smile (without naming names or giving away too many details.) Ask them to share things they like about RPing in general. Basically, use COAR as a template in regards to rules, etc., but only focus on the good things about RPing.
A blog like COAR can sometimes make us feel like there's nothing good left about writing in the RPC, but I think we all know that's not really the case. COAR just isn't designed to highlight that. But your blog could. :)
You could also create a promo and ask other RP-focused blogs (like COAR) to share it. Get the word out using RP meme blogs, and RP advice blogs, and that sort of thing. Not everyone will say yes, but some will, and it's a good place to start.
Anyway, COAR doesn't have a lot of positivity posts, but I know I always smile when I see one get posted. It'd be nice, I think, to have a blog posting non-specific RP positivity like that every day. :)
Best of luck with your blog! <3

I'm not sure if I seen any posts going around discussing the recent VERY DETAILED (and honestly kind of poetic in how vitriolic they are) AI generated spambots on AO3.
I feel like I just need to spread the word, because these guys are NASTY. But they aren't real! You can tell that by the fact that they don't mention a fandom, a character, or anything even remotely about the fic itself.
Just wanted to put it out there in case anyone gets one of these and it crushes them. Never stop writing. Writing and story telling is one of the oldest ways of connecting with other humans. It's a gift to this world. Keep writing!!!
Just when i thought the tumblr roleplay community couldn't sink any lower, i see an adult making several posts about feeling hurt by an actual teenager lmaololrofl
OP, if this isn't ragebait (which I kind of suspect it might be) then you really need a better understanding of how feelings work. This absolutely isn't the flex you think it is. Age literally has nothing to do with anything when it comes to how someone or something makes you feel. And mocking someone for those feelings really doesn't say anything about anything... except yourself.
