Hot take but i hate the "ralsei is a trans girl" theory. It was already bad with reddit and twitter users calling him a femboy back when femboys were 100% associated with being feminine and sexualized, and now we cant have a feminine boy anymore.

Theres just no win for me. We have susie, who is a butchfemme, a girl with masculine traits, we have kris, who is androgynous, and we cant have ralsei as our feminine boy. No we cant. Everyone needs to be a girl, somehow, or else it isnt "woke enough". Or else it isnt "cool". And im probably gonna get skinned alive for this but I dont think making a male character that is representing another group (feminine men for example) be a girl makes him any cooler or less cool than the original.

I would be entirely fine with that theory, IF I WASNT BEING PUSHED THROAT DOWN WITH IT EVERY DAY. PEOPLE SAYING IT IS "STRAIGHT UP CONFIRMED", THAT ITS INCONTESTABLE, THAT ITS "CANON" AND NOT MERELY A HEADCANON.

We have a lot of masculine women in media. A lot. I need some feminine boys who arent necessarily gay. That arent sexualized. That arent jokes. I just want ralsei. A ralsei. I cant even have ralsei. I am a feminine man at times. I just want to be able to have men and boys be feminine without being instantly labeled girls. Im tired bro. I just want representation fron every side. I dont think roles inversion kills prejudice

listen i get what you're saying, i really do, but it's very hard to see ralsei as a feminine guy rather than a girl when there's a scene where flowerey encourages ralsei to do what he wants, and points out that ralsei was staring at the blue and pink drink longer than the others, and then calls ralsei "princess" before leaving.

he called the entire fungang "princesses" in a cutscene when you die, and I read the "pink and blue" as ralsei choosing because he got a crush on kris and thats kris' colors. All of this is very ambiguous and I dont think people should be forcing their own intepretations onto others. It is a good theory but makes no sense to me

i haven't gotten to his fight yet so i don't know anything about that, but i don't think it makes sense for the pink and blue to be about kris. moments before flowery tells ralsei to go for what he wants regardless of kris's wishes; i don't think it would make very much sense for flowery to be reccomending ralsei to...pursue a crush on kris regardless of what kris wants?

your opinion vs my opinion. Theres still nothing concrete neither about kralsei or transfem ralsei. I just say my conclusion based on all ive seen (i played the game and saw 99% of dialogue). The point that people shouldnt be forcing others into accepting their theory/headcanon still stands.

it’s not canon yet. i firmly believe that Ralsei’s character arc will conclude with him rejecting his role in the prophecy, in a few ways, and coming out as a girl. there’s loads of feminine men in undertale and deltarune, so it’s not like anyone looking for such a character is gonna be missing out. there’s still mettaton and blue, just off the top of my head. and since headcanons are being discussed anyway, you could always just draw a male character in a dress. berdly would look cute in one.

i think my main issue with critics of transgender Ralsei is that they can’t seem to come to terms with the fact that there are t a lot of good transfem characters in western media. especially not ones where you get to watch a character come to terms either their own identity, like Ralsei is. Ralsei has a lot of complexes about their identity, being a darkner, and doesn’t believe he is capable of defying his “role.” this is like, textbook transgender allegory. Ralsei being trans in some way is the most obvious conclusion, and it would be the most satisfying one, in my opinion. his entire character arc is building towards him rejecting his role in the story, and i think it’s in poor faith to ignore that.

i’d also like to point out this cutscene that plays if you climb the climbing section very fast in castletown. he hasn’t been a princess “yet.” if he was truly nothing more than just a feminine guy, then he likely wouldn’t even be open to the idea of being a girl, let alone seek approval for being one. this could easily just be played off as a joke, or even an easter egg, but that just seems unlikely to me. there’s no reason to include a scene like this at all if it’s not at least a bit indicative of his character.
