It's hard to believe we've reached the end of the 8th KHOC Week! And this event was just as amazing as all the ones before it. It also ends the Worlds Tour, as next year we're taking things in a fun new direction!
We've absolutely loved seeing everyone's characters again! Each of them are so unique and it's obvious how much every one of you care about them. Thank you for sharing them with us and for creating!
Now I think it's important we take a moment to also thank every mod that makes this event possible!
@amyhayanora - Our Graphics Mod! Amy drew this incredible picture of the mods' OCs, but also did every banner and graphic you see for this year's event! She is one of my dearest friends and without fail, every year she comes to me in June and asks what she can do to help make the event possible again. She's been a huge motivator and confidant through all of this. (Her character is on the far right, Roka)
diggingplotholes - AKA Stranger, is one of our mods over on Bluesky! Stranger is one of the most positive people you'll ever meet. Since I met him, he's been a huge encouragement when it comes to others creating. He steps in wherever he's needed and is a wonderful addition to the team. And he also runs a KHOC Pathfinder on his Twitch! (His character Kuro is beside Roka)
@iridescent-grisaille - AKA Peony, is one of our mods on Tumblr! Peony took this week by the horns and answered SO many posts. We couldn't keep up! Breaks at work, early mornings just waking up, didn't matter how little time she had, she was there finding a post to reply to. She's been a wonderful part of all this! (Her character is Nimue, and she's beside Kuro)
@ornamentelle - The other mod on Bluesky! Orna started on Bluesky but jumped to any social that needed her. You might have gotten a reply from her and you'll never knoooooow. Ahaha! She is someone that has always stepped in when I needed it, even during the past OC weeks where I got it in my head I would handle everything myself. I'm so grateful to have her be part of this! (Her character is Hikaru, and is beside Nimue)
@rainrain9 - AKA Marcie, is the other mod on Tumblr! Marcie is also one of the people that has been here since near the beginning. She is a dear friend that is always on board for my crazy ideas and volunteers herself to help make them possible. She's also a great voice of reason to make sure we keep this all running smoothly! (Her character is Justin, between Hikaru and Hinata)
@hinataoc - AKA Me! I'm the mod that ran the Twitter side of things this year, and hopped around to the other socials as needed. I'm also the one that started this event eight years ago! It's flourished in so many ways since that first OC Week. Each of these friends listed above me are people I met in conjunction with KHOC Week, and my life wouldn't be the same without them. No matter where this event leads, however long is goes, I know that I've met so many incredible people through it that will remain in my heart for years to come. (My character is Hinata, beside Justin)

Once again a huge thank you to everyone that participates in this event and makes it possible! With KH4 on the horizon, I hope that our love for Kingdom Hearts just blossoms even further.
surprise, another round of @khoc-week, Day 1 - Daybreak Town.
It's been 7 years since I started to talk about my twins ocs, so I decided to focus more on another kid for this year, Roka.
Roka is an oc who I had a complicated relationship with: born just to carry some of my brain's ungliest pieces, but surprisingly, every passing year makes me feel better and this oc more dear to me, to the point that she's finally evolving over what was her planned lifespan to bloom into her own character.
Roka is a chronically sick kid. Her body fails her every day a bit more, but that doesn't make her less determined to do her part in town, Ursus' stubborness helps her hiding her frail feminine nature to the others by dressing up as a boy. No pity allowed. Being the weakest Ursus kid in town also makes her Aced's personal pain in the arse, he even tried training her himself, really digging into that little bit of patience he has... Surprisingly beneficial for him.
He grows very attached to the kid, to the point that when he discovers Roka's health's situation worsening he's the one asking Gula for help (a bit of headcanons about foretellers having specialized fields of interest, and gula's are alchemy, potions and medicine). Roka has nothing special but Gula owes one to Aced and even if great darkness looms on Daybreak Town announcing the war, he finds a little time to develop a potion for her, with the help of her assistant Leonna.
It's not a miraculous cure, Roka's life will depend by consuming it regularly, from now on. It's not perfect, but it's the best she has ever been so far. Aced and Gula confide in Luxu keeping an eye on her during her rehabilitation process so she doesn't wander around the tower and remains unaware of the chaos in town. This will be a very boring time because every foreteller is now very busy trying to keep things together, with poor results, so Luxu, the invisible one, the secret apprentice, the one nobody really cares about except the Master, starts to spend time with this sick but very amusing girl.
They bond nicely, and even after being "discharged" Roka has a way to always tell when it's him approaching her in town... Gestures, the pace, the little quirks. She has no idea how much feeling seen helps Luxu, now that everything is about to collapse. He has a role to fulfill. But maybe, just maybe, he can find a way to spare his new friend the sight of the fall of Daybreak Town,taking her somewhere else, somewhere safe... *continues in day 3*

But it's not that i have completely forget my other kids. art dump here, just simple life moments in town, old and new. The twins and Lupe have recently befriended Nyo, my good friend Onyx's oc. They live next to each other and sometimes have dinner together. Nyo works as apprentice blacksmith in the Moogle's shop and Touma is very interested in the language, so they have private lessons, kupo!
