A wonderful capture of the experiences of being born and raised in Corona Queens. Photographer Armelis D'Orville spent 103 Days recreating what her neighborhood meant to her as she was growing up. Having such a great impact in her life, with this project she delivers memorable stories which touch the hearts of those who also spent their years there growing up.

There were many that immediately recognized people and places that are apart of their everyday routine. We often don't stop to realize how much something is apart of our life. Whether it be a casual stop to a grocery store every morning, or the same people who wait with you on the bus stop. These things become familiar to us, and in time comfortable, it's apart of our home without us realizing it

It wasn't just people from the neighborhood who were stopping by for the exhibition, people who have never been to the neighborhood were able to indulge on the experience. To see how things may differ from their own neighborhood, or how they just might be very alike.

All of the photography that was showcased was available for sale, giving the chance for anyone to purchase a memory token for them to take home with them.

A beautiful contrast which amplified the show's persona, as there were both color and black and white photos totally a stunning 52 pieces mounted, which is by far more pieces than most art shows we see today.

The atmosphere was very welcoming and friendly, with the music complimenting the environment with a respectable amount of travel space between the crowd making the overall feel enjoyable for anyone who may have wished to attend.

Guests were given the chance to participate in a raffle drawing for those who felt that luck was on their side. For 1$ they had the chance to win a randomly selected print that was not showcased on the walls. For $5 they had the chance on winning an exclusive enlarged print of any of the photos that were showcased.

For those interested in future events, they were given the option to subscribe to the mailing list.

The exhibition will be one to remember for the years to come. An outstanding body of work all put together by a very determined young woman. In efforts to deliver her own perspective of her experiences growing up she has created tangible memories that will now be hanging up in the homes of everyone that purchased a piece. A lovely way to see off the summer.

There is still the rest of the year waiting for us, all which are going to be filled with many more stories we can write into our own book, so don't worry if you missed this one!, there are still more exciting projects waiting to come! Hopefully you too are able to share in this experience

With in the depths of the constant struggle of survival in the most active metropolitan area in the world, lives a universal effort to learn and grow from one another.

Anxious to establish connections to better equip ourselves with knowledge to properly exercise our creativity. We're often distracted by each others competition therefore fail to see how we can contribute to a community that we are all apart of, one way or another. >Last Friday night was the result of a huge collaboration of artists of all ages, there were able to deliver a phenomenal display of talent, art and creativity.

The first show of many to come, featured a number of recognized local artists, vendors as well newcomers who were more than excited to show their work in this public event.

Anyone attending the event was going to be greeted by the warmth of strangers in a friendly atmosphere, as well complimented with horderves to promote as much of a comfortable environment as possible

This event remained ecstatic through out the whole night featuring work from various artists
