Anyways, after eventually getting her heart back, beating safe & soundly inside her chest where it belongs, I think Chloe would be instantly overwhelmed by suddenly feeling everything again. Going from a stone-cold knight who was nothing more than a pawn, back to that silly little goody two-shoes was very major whiplash that Chloe doesn’t know how to handle

Especially whenever she now gets excited or happy about anything, there’s this awful phantom pain where it feels like something (or someone) is actively squeezing her heart until it’s about to pop (something the Queen of Hearts would originally do as a stress relief, or if she caught Chloe unconsciously being happy)

And Chloe is unfortunately not used to dealing with this kind of trauma, or stress, and so it takes a very heavy toll on her, something she does attempt to hide because she doesn’t want to cause anymore worry about her (Ella & Charming are just so happy their baby is okay now) but the act doesn’t fool Red for a second (it actually doesn’t fool anyone, Chloe is a horrible liar but they’re trying to give her space to talk when she wants to)

But it’s slightly different with Red, as Chloe does actively distance herself from her and Red gets scared that maybe she did lose Chloe in the end (not that she blames her, if Red hadn’t gotten close to Chloe, she wouldn’t had been in this situation in the first place)

And while I’m currently unsure of how they’d get there (I’m a bad writer, forgive me), they’ll eventually get their actual happy ending after Chloe finally breaks down in Red’s arms, and opens up about everything she’s been feeling ever since then and while Red isn’t used to comforting, she’d absolutely try her hardest for Chloe

Chloe would absolutely do it all over again tho if it meant protecting Red, that’s for sure

Chloe was in love with Red at that point, but never pushed for more at the time because she knew what Red truly needed at the time was a friend but she still longed for something more as she devoted herself to protecting Red

While Red doesn’t realize just how much Chloe genuinely means to her until after Chloe becomes a blank slate, stripped of everything Red had once found annoying (or so she thought) and turned into a puppet for her mother

She at first, wanted to try to look on the bright side of things (even if it was messed up but she was her mother’s daughter) but she can’t because she hates how unChloe like it is

She’s always quiet now, unless prompted but even then, her answers are too short and lack the usual enthusiasm Chloe once held after Red’s many failed attempts at trying to get a rise out of her

Her Chloe was unapologetically talkative, nagging Red about all the policies and rules she was supposedly breaking before she’d eventually give in anyways

Idea inspired by oooSilverWolfooo (on Ao3), loosely also by Deltarune (if you squint hard enough)

Base concept is, no time travel, and so, The Queen of Hearts is still evil

For whatever reason, The Queen of Hearts decided to hold off on her coup, as much as she wanted to see heads start rolling by the dozen, she at least still held some restraint, and instead lets Red actually attend Auradon Prep

Of course, not without reason, Red would be her wild card, her little spy as she gathered information of modern day Auradon as she unfortunately admits she’s behind on the times (Their new Queen can turn into a dragon, how fun)

She had hoped by the time she next visited, Red would’ve at least gathered something for her, maybe finally out growing her little rebellious phase but by the time Parent’s Day rolls around, Red has nothing for her

Which in turn, leaves her fuming as her temper gets the best of her (as always), threatening to drag Red back to Wonderland if she keeps this up but eventually gets interrupted by none other than Chloe Charming, who is of course, worried, and concerned about the scene despite Red telling her beforehand to leave her alone until after her mother leaves

It doesn’t take The Queen of Hearts very long to realize that Red, and Chloe are obviously closer, knowing she had once fell for the same trap as well with Ella, and decides to do something about it

The plan being The Queen of Hearts quite literally steals Chloe’s heart from her chest, an act of kindness in her eyes, as she forces Chloe to be her unwilling knight/puppet in order to push Red into the “right” direction

False promises of returning it once Red provides her with the results she wants, until then, Chloe’s heart will remain locked up tight in Wonderland under the Queen’s control

Glassheart fic, where Chloe & Red are dealing with tension ofc, and with Castlecoming (or any other important romantic event) happening soon, Pink has been trying to push Red into taking Chloe to the dance

Red, however, keeps refusing because she swears there’s nothing between them but even then, even if she WAS “hypothetically” in love with Chloe, it’s not like it’d matter considering Chloe would never feel the same way back, especially when she has a whole lineup of people already begging to go with her (her with her stupid yet charming nature </3)

Pink however isn’t convinced, and keeps pushing while off to the side that actually kick starts the plot, someone else already plans on asking Chloe out, and isn’t willing to take no for an answer (I kept flipping back and forth on who that would be, part of me wanted Hazel for some toxic yuri Charmwaves or you could always do an OC as well…)

Anyways, whole plot is, Chloe is forced under a love potion/spell, and so it’s up to Red to save the day!!!

Only thing is, they have until midnight Castlecoming to actually save Chloe or else the spell will become permanent and Red risks losing Chloe forever, with the only way to actually save Chloe is to make a counter-spell/potion and have Chloe drink it or a True Love’s Kiss!!! Red naturally tries to do the first one out of fear but something ends up going wrong, and with no time to spare, Red is forced to take that massive risk…
