I made this blog bc I wanted to see fics of ghoul readers, but I can do Super Mutant readers & Robot readers (any kind of robot from the Fallout universe!). I could MAYBE do intelligent deathclaw readers bc iirc those are a thing!

I've been thinking about writing for Fallout a lot recently. but here's the thing. I don't want to write for HUMAN readers. what about ghoul readers?? super mutant readers? hell, even robot readers?

How long does it usually take you to finish up an ask?

➵Summary: King Man attempts to woo his advisor, with several failed attempts. Maybe being straight forward is a better idea?

King Man has been ruling Mars for a few months now. He’s been working on making it a better place, with his advisor. When he left Ooo, he brought them along. Now that he’s king, he made them his advisor. They’ve been with him for a while, even back when he had his magic and suffered from MMS. They’ve been a true friend, and King Man will admit that he, perhaps, has been feeling something more romantic towards them.
He’s decided that he’s going to do something about this, instead of pining for them in silence. He’s made a plan to woo his advisor and closest friend. He will win them over!

Attempt Number 1. Snacks.
King Man has specially gotten his advisor their favorite snacks from Ooo. He goes straight to their room, the platter of various treats in hand. He pauses in front of their door, close to reconsidering. He takes a deep breath and knocks on their door.
It takes a few moments before their door opens, looking tired and disheveled. “Oh, King Man, what’s up?” They yawn. Oh, Glob, did he wake them up?
He swallows nervously. “(Y/N). did I wake you?” He speaks softly to them, “I didn’t mean to bother, honey.”
They laugh softly. “You could never bother me, my King.” (Y/N) reassures. “Now come on, tell me what you wanted that made you unable to wait until my alarm went off!”
“Oh, right! Right, I uh..” King Man takes another deep breath before presenting the platter of snacks. “I got you your favorites! Special from Ooo!”
They brighten, grinning. “Aw, King Man, you didn’t have to go through the trouble of getting me this!” They take the platter from the King of Mars, excited. “Y’know, you’re a real sweetheart.”
King Man flushes, waving them off. “Honey, you flatter me.” He grins, “And you know I wouldn’t do it for just anyone!”
(Y/N) laughs. “Well, I appreciate it, my King. I will make sure to savor this. Thank you” They hold the platter with one hand, using their free hand to pat King Man’s arm affectionately. “Now, you should get some rest before your duties today, King Man.” They smile to the Martian, “You don’t want me to make you!” They tease.
King Man scoffs, “I don’t need to rest-” He’s cut off by (Y/N) sticking their tongue out at him and closing the door to their room. He sighs, lingering outside their door. Attempt failed.

Attempt Number 2. Flowers.
Today’s been busy, King Man has barely had the chance to see (Y/N). He got them flowers, once more imported from Ooo. He’s been trying to talk to them all day, but always gets interrupted by his duties as King of Mars.
It’s been a frustrating day, but he finally gets his chance to talk to his advisor. He lets out a deep sigh as he sits on his throne, them standing next to it with a clipboard.
They open their mouth to speak but stop when he holds his hand up. “My King? Is something the matter?” They frown, worried for their friend.
“No no, nothing’s wrong!” He waves his hand, trying to ease the worry. “It’s just been a long day, honey. I’ve been waiting all day to give you something!”
They pause, then laugh. “That must’ve been torture for you, King Man.” the advisor teases the King of Mars.
He sighs dramatically, slumping in his throne with his hand on his forehead. “Don’t you know it, honey.” He chuckles and sits up, picking up the bouquet of flowers. “I got these imported from Ooo. A little piece of it, just for you.” He holds the flowers out to them.
They gasp softly, setting aside the clipboard and carefully taking the bouquet. “Wow.. King Man.. You have no idea how much that means to me.” They speak ever so softly, staring at the bouquet.
He grins, pleased with their reaction. “I got an idea of it, (Y/N).” He leans over the side of the throne to look at them, before speaking in a sing-song voice, “now tell me how much you love me!~”
(Y/N) pauses before laughing, cheeks lightly flushed. “You know you’re my best friend, King Man. You mean a lot to me, dude.” They continue to stare at the flowers, refusing to meet his gaze.
King Man’s grin tightens, trying to keep the lighthearted mood but feeling rather dejected. Attempt failed.

Attempt 3. Pickup lines.
King Man lays across his throne, tapping the seat as he thinks.(Y/N) is sitting leaning against the throne, eyes closed as they relax. Today’s a slow day, luckily, meaning the two of them just get to sit around.
King Man hums in thought, shifting his position to look down at his advisor. “Hey. hey (Y/N). Honey. Honey. I have something to tell you!” He grins.
(Y/N) opens their eyes and looks up at the King of Mars, looking unamused. “Dude.” They huff, “What do you need? It’s a slow day, I could be napping.”
He chuckles at their grumpy behavior. “This might sound cheesy, but I think you’re really grate.” He purrs.
They stare at King Man before rolling their eyes. “Dude. That was awful.” They lean back against the throne once more.
He shrugs, trying another. “Are you a camera? Because all I can do is smile when I see you.” He moves to hang off his throne a bit more, to be closer to (Y/N). They groan in annoyance, glaring up at King Man.
He pouts, pausing to think before moving further down so he’s hanging in front of them, arms on either side of their head while upside down. “I think someone must have stolen the stars and put them in your eyes.” He grins.
“Dude. King Man, my friend. You should practice these with someone else.” They continue to glare at him, despite the flush on their cheeks.
King Man will not be deterred this time. He makes another attempt, holding their gaze. “Your eyes are like IKEA. I could get lost in them for hours.”
They pause, their glare giving way to confusion. “... What the flip is IKEA?”
“... I have no idea. I just read that line in an old book.” He looks sheepish.
King Man tries to push himself back up onto his throne, but only succeeds in making himself fall off the throne. (Y/N) snorts in amusement, “you dingus! Y’donked up!” They smile at the King of Mars, who only pouts. Attempt failed..?

Attempt 4. Just confessing.
King Man’s frustrated with his failed attempts to woo his advisor. He’s run out of ideas that could possibly work on his human friend. Human courtship is confusing and he’s decided to give up on that. Good old fashioned confessing is likely the best option.
It’s his advisor’s day off. He doesn’t want to interrupt their peace, but he’s decided there’s not much choice. The two of them won’t get much privacy otherwise. He pushes his anxiety aside and marches to their room, determined.
He knocks on their door, calling out through the door. “(Y/N), I don’t mean to bother you on your day off, honey, but I’ve really got to tell you something.” He tries to keep his tone even, not wanting to let anxiety get the better of him.
They open the door, looking very unamused. “King Man. If you came here to give me work on my day off, I am going to personally murder you.”
He laughs, giving a grin. He will not show how nervous he is. “No! No, nothing like that, honey.” He pauses and swallows.
They frown, noticing their friend’s nervousness. “Hey, King Man, what’s wrong? Did something happen? You know you can tell me anything.” they reach out and put their hand on his arm, trying to provide comfort. King Man flushes at their touch.
“I.. I know I used to be a total deuce breakfast, but you stuck by me during that time.. You even helped me figure out how to be a normie when I lost my powers..” He takes a deep breath, fidgeting with his sleeves now. “You came here with me. To Mars. You willingly became my advisor..”
His advisor simply tilts their head, waiting for him to continue patiently. King Man sighs, “And I will admit, my feelings from you have.. Gone from purely platonic to.. Wanting to have you be mine, honey. And for me to be yours.” He gives a soft groan, frustrated with how hard this is, and takes a step back. “Now, honey, there’s no pressure to feel the same. We can forget this ever happened, in fact. Glob, this is embarrassing-”
The King of Mars is cut off by (Y/N) pulling him closer by the collar, pressing their lips to his in a kiss, albeit a bit of a hesitant one. King Man freezes, his eyes getting wide. He quickly relaxes and kisses them back, his hands hovering over their waist.
They pull back, giving him a bright smile. “You’re a real dingus if you think I haven’t loved you since the beginning. You were a deuce breakfast, but I found you to be rather charming.” They give him a sweet peck to the lips. “I’m yours, if you’ll be mine.”
The King giggles, flustered. “Yeah.. Yeah that.. Sounds nice.” He grins and pulls them into a hug, slightly swaying them back and forth.
“If I’m dating you, does that make me royalty?” They joke, nuzzling their face to his shoulder.
He laughs, patting their head. “It makes you whatever you want to be, sweetheart.” His grin softens into a sweet smile, as he continues to sway with them.
