Cats have lived beside humans for nearly 10,000 years.

Long before cats shared our sofas and windowsills, they shared our stories. They appeared in ancient temples. On carved stone. In paintings, myths, and quiet household corners. Civilizations rose and disappeared, yet the image remained remarkably familiar: a cat sitting patiently beside human life. Watching. Waiting. Belonging. Across centuries, people saw different things in them. The Egyptians saw guardians. Sailors saw protectors. Artists saw mystery. Writers saw independence. But perhaps what mattered most was something much simpler. No matter where we came from, cats found a way into our homes—and eventually into our hearts. That enduring bond inspired Neko Dark Matte. Its sculptural silhouette is intentionally timeless. Not tied to a specific breed. Not tied to a specific era. Just the unmistakable presence of a cat. From this understanding emerges the story of the red thread.

According to legend, every being is connected by an invisible red thread, tied at birth and carried through life. The thread may stretch, tangle, or disappear from view, but it is never broken. It does not promise ease or permanence. It promises continuity.

The red thread does not prevent separation.

It explains it.

When two lives part, the thread does not snap. It passes through what we call loss, emerging on the other side altered, but intact. What was once presence becomes influence. What was once touch becomes memory. What was once shared time becomes shared meaning.

In this sense, death is not the cutting of the thread.

It is the moment the thread slips out of the visible world.
