In my dreams I am by the sea â the seagulls sing their song, and there is a lighthouse next to me. Noli me tangere, I say, as I put my feet into the water. The water is an exception, of course. On my own I am whole, my soft, yet hard body, my hair in the wind, my fingers that I got from my mother. I am what they call a nymph, or a muse. I do not belong to any man, even if they try. Their efforts are in vain, for I am a force of nature, ever-flowing, ever-changing, yet still. A rock, a grove, a fountain. The vast ocean, who is a friend and a foe. I am all and nothing, everything at once and nothing at all.
I am Anna Perenna, I am Diana, I am Menocchio, I am Cthulhu. You may fear me, you may love me, it does not matter â for I shall endure.
