Somewhere in this little old journal of mine lies buried Max Erhmann’s Desiderata, written to me 20 years ago by someone who must have my good interest at heart. The side note says: “A Guide To Life, hope this helps in future decision-making X.” This is pre-Monocle days. I cannot remember who gave this to me but I must say I’m definitely more grateful for this now then I probably was 20 years ago. It’s funny how all these little treasures reveal themselves in their most relevant form, at times when you are unintentionally ready to receive this blessing of wisdom or insight. And the people who share these treasures are as equally as important as the people who dreamed, thought and created these wonderful things with beneficial purpose.
