Adam went to the back to take the muffin, he had a bit of a variation to display, mermaid themed, apple themed even chocolate chip muffins filled with Nutella. He offered her the cupcake she wanted. “I’m sure we will, thank you.” He smiled. “I proposed to her when we were by ourselves at the new year’s party at clock strike midnight I proposed to her. Which her saying yes was the best early birthday present I could receive.”

barbie was beaming the whole way through the story. she adored hearing about love, especially when it was two great people such as adam and mary. she had met mary a few time when she would come into the daycare to teach the older kids about starting elementary school. “that sounds so romantic! and it was your birthday! oh my god, that’s so cute”

“Really!” He was excited. “Don’t worry I’m sure you’ll do fine, it’s all in following the steps as precise as possible.” He loved being around Barbie, she was so much fun, she really became his bestie. It was the similarity in vibes and the camping trip which brought them together.

“okay!” she was going to be a master at baking in no time with terence’s help. “i can do that” or so she said. that was until she would likely get distracted with something or at how good the baking smelled. terence would have his work cut out for him.

“My night has been good, the rest of my night seems promising.” He hadn’t forgotten Henrik’s words from earlier. His beloved was talking to his buddy pinto, though one could say they were practically brothers.

“And ice helps if your shoes give you blisters, in the worst case you could put some wet towels in them and they’ll expend a bit.”

“ooh sounds interesting.” she grinned at her friends cryptic wording. she was naive, not stupid. she knew what terence was meaning. barbie looked around to see henrik chatting away with someone “who’s the guy henrik’s talking to?”

“my feet will be fine for now, but i know i’ll be feeling it tomorrow. i think i’ll go get a pedicure tomorrow to try and ease the pain. are you up for some mani and pedi’s?”

she appreciated all the help terence had given her since she arrived in town. he had been so kind in taking her into his life.

[Hello sunshine] - (Terence starter)

Terence was ready to swing, and ready to woo his boyfriend even more than he normally did - which meant lots of hugs and kisses (sneaky kisses that is - surrounded by privacy because no one needed to see Terence flushed face that matched his thumping heart.) He was getting a drink for Henrik when he noticed someone sitting by themselves - now don’t be mistaken Terence loves spending time with Henrik, but he also had an annoying feature of making friends in unexpected moments and bothering wallflowers that seem out of place.

“So sunshine, tell me what is going on in that head of yours-”

barbie was having the time of her life at the ball. she loved the whole theme and she loved that everyone has made such an effort with their masks and attire. she had been dancing with a few people for a while when she decided to get a drink and have a seat to relax for a moment. 

“i’m thinking about how sore my feet are going to be after all the dancing i’ve been doing” she smiled “how’s your night been?”

she was intimidated at the arrival of who she had been paired up with. thee penelope deery, social media superstar and influencer was paired up with a tour guide in training who could barely navigate the town. 

“uh hi” she introduced herself shyly “i’m barbie. i’m your partner for the event. it looks like we got a movie night as our activity. are you up for that?”

“Of course!” They were made by himself but ever since Terence re-opened his bakery sweets were sold less in his café. Not that Adam minded, Terence deserved to have a good business himself, and he earned enough on selling coffee. “Thank you, I can imagine that, you are the second person to congratulate me.”

“thank you” she smiled and waited for adam to pass over the muffin. barbie thanked him again when she was handed the cake. “i imagine mary and yourself will be receiving endless congratulations from everyone now that the news is out. if you don’t mind me asking, how did you propose? i love hearing stories about love”

“Or even better we can bake one ourselves, I know tons of recepies and i can open the bakery for us!” He grinned, he actually liked Barbie a lot - they bonded over boys over the camping. Girls night but with terence with it.

“really?” she asked, the excitement bright in her eyes “i’m not much of a baker but i’ll do my best not to ruin the recipe” she laughed. terence had fast become one of the people she enjoyed being around. they had a similar energy and the camping trip had brought them together to realise it. since then she was happy to have him as a friend.
