        “Are you here to be another bother, or are the other citizens doing that for you?”

        Welcome to the eastern perimeter of Cotes Ward, where the remnants of the winter wind tug the cherry blossom petals as their power ebbs away. The night continues, pitch dark save for the faint golden lights that lead between wards and leaves. There, on this stagnant night, the drivel of loose crowds can be heard, its people walking through the trees and waiting for the sky to split apart in color.

        But those are farther than they are closer, and those who hear it are not welcomed for the first time, but a time over a hundredth. Bede can’t count how many times he’s visited on his fingers, anymore, nor can he in his head, nor a journal; Solosis cannot, either, no matter how strong its own mind is. At the very least, he can tell the sound of footsteps, ones far too close and slower than the gabbling passerby. His eyes have adjusted, but not enough: he can only squint towards the source before leaning back and closing his eyes.

        “I presume it’s due to the usual fireworks. They haven’t set them off since sunset, and most of the people here are always loud or antsy. Now they’re all both.”

unfortunately, i am back, and worse than ever

[ actual ooc post: i’m sorry for up and disappearing! i was distracted to hell and back by finals, and then i apped another character (or two) and the rest is history. anyways, bede’s muse is back (implying it left, i guess?) and i’ll be managing things across blogs for the next weeks.

additionally, bede’s blog is no longer spoiler-free, as was meant in january. i’ve updated the theme and his pages accordingly.

          that’s a trainer!! that was most definitely a trainer!! not one she knew of but a trainer nonetheless. he was just about to head over, to demand some questions … only to freeze. trainers caught pokemon. he was a free clone pokemon. that was probably not a good idea. but he still needed help so … “ pika!! pik kachu!! ” while up in a tree. // @psyvalry​​

        It’s usually the Meowth that get stuck in the trees, right?

        …Ah, well, whatever. It’d be odd enough to see a Pokemon perched in this city’s trees, and so it’s even odder to see one all alone. Gaze masking all his bewilderment but the tilt of his head, Bede edges forward, towards the tree—and, as the Pikachu yells out, he pulls his front foot back and stares in silence.

        ( Well, ) Bede sighs, ( this is going to take a while. How did it even get there in the first place? )

✧*:･ﾟ| HE cares very little about being heard. It is a singing performance,of course you’re meant to be heard! He knows not if he’d be accepted to join WinterFES’ own choir, but the thought of trying is more powerful than the thought of FAILING. Thus, he’s practicing in what he assumes to be a quiet location. His voice isn’t bad: as long as you don’t mind CHRISTMAS MUSIC.

        It’s unfortunate, of course, that Bede is drawn to the quiet:the places where he most expects serenity and solitude in the cold of Spirale. The snow chills him and pierces through his coat, but that isn’t what particularly disturbs him. Rather, it’s the sudden and continuous noise—a tuneful voice, with a loud and clear tune. Bede can vaguely recognize the tune. It’s one he’s heard in Wyndon before, although his lacking celebration in prior years is far too prevalent now as he attempts—and fails—to ignore it.

        ( He really isn’t much of a holiday person. It probably came packaged with the gift of solitude. )

        “…You know, isn’t chocolate usually toxic to dogs?” The aisle here, with candy and chocolate stocked upon their respective shelves, is scarce with people—save for Bede and one other person with dog ears. Regardless of whether or not the other is actually looking at the shelves with chocolate—he doesn’t quite remember, but he vaguely knows most sweets would be bad, regardless—Bede throws out the sentence, a haphazard comment with some amount of jest in it.

he…really does have a sharp tongue for a kid. eiji just looks sheepish, looking back down at the hoards of snowballs he’s made.

“i mean, i guess it isn’t a problem, it’s just…inconvenient. unless you like the snow. i like the snow.” it’s sort of just a stream of words, but… “i mean. you want to make a snowman?”

kids like snow. kids like…snowmen. that should make up for it.

        “Yes, it is. I’m glad you can see that,” he says, a mawkish smile growing on his face. He tries to manage the expression for a few seconds longer, but there’s no need as he lours in response.

        “I dislike it. As you said, it’s inconvenient and unnecessary.” If the layers he’s thrown on haven’t made that obvious enough, they only add to his opinion as he holds his elbows close to his chest, still shaky from the remains of melting snow. He steps away, although the man’s question still lingers in the air, and he reluctantly drags his foot back.

        “…Why not?” Bede sighs, ignoring the shiver in his voice. It wouldn’t hurt to try ( thanks to his terrible comment on how snowballs can’t hurt, ) and it certainly would stop the man from breaking the rules so willy-nilly, and…

        And why not humor him? He supposes that must be the last reason, and quite little else. “Alright. I suppose I can spend a few minutes on the idea.”

       ( Snowmen really only take a few minutes to make, right? )

[To: Who even are you?] [From: Ankh] (…?)

[SENT] Take one step out of my room. Go on, I dare you.

        That’s the text Bede sent to this guy—Ankh, apparently, is his name—what, eighty minutes ago when he came to his senses. Now, as he stands outside of his own condo, screwed out of entry and screwed out of the ability to live in his body for more than a few hours after his last hardships, Bede actually wonders if this guy had the nerve to leave and do something stupid.

        He certainly wouldn’t put it past the man, either. After their last encounters, Bede’s certain they’re on horrible terms. He’d laughed at the man thinking their meetings would end then and there, and if that sort of behavior’s caused him, in the present, to pay some price…

        Well, then, he’s already had his own share of payback for that. ( That’s really on Ankh for having a terrible sense of fashion and a stupid arm to boot. )

        He quickly knocks on the door. It’s more of a pound, initially, but Bede has more decency than that. He has enough of an annoying voice to use instead, anyways.

For what feels like a long time, Yamper feels as though the stranger he’s staring at is a familiar presence. Could they perhaps be a trainer from the Galar region? Curiously, Yamper approaches him, pawing at his ankle for him to turn and look at him. 

Hi! 

Are you from the Galar region? 

Yamper barks, wagging his tail. 

        Bede doesn’t notice him until he’s already grasping for his attention.

        Well, no, that’s a lie. When he had passed through the area, yes, he had registered a familiar blur to the side—but he never paid any closer attention to it. Familiar as it was, it hadn’t felt any important to investigate.

        Still, now, as he looks down towards the Yamper, he can’t help but question his prior judgment. He looks, first at the Yamper, then around, before kneeling down to its height and stretching his hand out towards it. If it allows him, he’ll scratch it behind his ears—a safe enough bet for now.

        “You’re a Yamper, aren’t you?” Bede puts on an inch of a smile as he looks over it. The everstone hung around his neck is nothing short of curious.

        “Where’s your trainer? As much as they might appreciate me finding you, I can’t make heads nor tails of who they are.”
