For a long great while I have pondered. What is the deal with the posters on Psyké Underground?
They do not fit the theme of the ride at all, which is funny because what even is the rides theme
The general idea is that you are on a train system ran by Vita from the old Walibi rebrand, so… you know. What’s the deal with these posters,
you. you could perhaps say. it looks like. you could perhaps say it looks like they were made for a CAVE TOUR
None of these have any appearance or even impact on Psykés theming or ride experience except maybe the bats!!!! They have got to be reused from fabulous cave tours!!
But look at this one!
The only one with a fabulous logo on it?? Why???? (also Psykés trains don’t look like that but I’ll let them have this one)
The typography is so inconsistent
anyway whatever tldr I think these posters were made for fab cave tours that’s why they don’t match the theme

old psyke name??
I dont think theres ever been a close up released of psykes exterior plan, the only one there is by the park.
But an encounter onto a archetechture portfolio website that had close ups of the image led me to the discovery of what appeared to be an old name for psyke??
fabulous cave tours. okay.
Now this has two possibilites...
1 - this was just the project name put up, or just a working title to hide the real name
2 - this was deadass going to be psykes name.
the first option is completly possible. i do not want to put it out there that this is 100% true information. I have done additional research and i havent found any key outliers in being false. but i just want to clarify
but... if you look to the offical image of psykes exterior plan by the park
... the plan has cave tours. and the exterior plan for turbine just says turbine, no hidden name or anything.
i cant find anymore information on this online, anywhere- no news articles no forums just nothing... the park only ever announced the name as psyke. was it just a working title or the real thing? who knows man.
heres the website, it has a pretty cool picture of the flywheel which i might put up here later

Psyké lights on ride

Funnily enough, a lights on ride actually turns off the lights on the front spike? Usually there’s a sort of strobe light on there
Honestly it’s pretty impressive how Walibi kept Psyké running throughout the year…
Despite a new coaster being built right next to it, Psyké remained open with temporary entrances and a facade you couldnt see until January 5th where it finally closed for its retheme and to reopen in spring.
Walibi Belgium posts a farewell video for Psyké, which is essentially the “every legend has a story” video from Psykés opening but shortened and mildly edited to change some text.
at least they updated the graphic…
Happy new year, Turbine time huh?
But, as much as it sucks to lose Psyké at least the ride is still operating (and hopefully with better theming this time HAHA)
