TS4 Windows Desktop Icons!

I’ve had this idea sort of bopping around in my head for awhile, and I finally decided to sit down and see if I could do it! It took quite a bit of trial-and-error, trying to track down programs that were both free and able to do what I needed, but dang it if I didn’t actually manage it!

So included in the download is one .dll file, which has 496 extracted icons from The Sims 4 base game and its various add-on packs. I could not include all 1000+ of the icons from the game, because Windows could not read them all at once. I think the hardest part of this whole process was picking and choosing which icons made the final cut! I tried to just remove duplicates and similar icons, but in the end I did have to start choosing which icons I felt would be the most useful as desktop icons. Sorry if any of your favorites aren’t included!!

How To Use:

After downloading, place the .dll file somewhere you won’t move it! It needs to stay put so your computer always knows where to find the images.

Choose a folder icon on your desktop you want to change. Right-click, and choose ‘Properties’.

Go to the ‘Customize’ tab and select ‘Change Icon’.

Select ‘Browse’, and navigate to where you placed the .dll file. Select ‘Open’.

Choose which icon you’d like to use, and select ‘OK’.

Select ‘OK’ again, and voila!

To change the ‘Recycle Bin’ icon is a little bit different, but if you just Google how to, it’s still pretty simple! & that’s it! I hope some other people will get use from this, it was a fun thing to try and do. Gonna say right now though that I don’t know anything about Macs! I won’t be able to help anyone with a Mac, or make another version of this for Macs. Sorry!

After playing Island Living for a while, I wasn’t 100% happy with some of the tops mermaids were given– especially the shell bra. So, I made a really quick edit to fix the fit of the shells around the chest, added more detail to the existing swatches & got rid of that pesky rope. +There is a standalone package or an override!

Oof. I ran into issues with the jonesi blankets converted by msteaqueen. She has since stopped creating/playing the sims 4 and after getting some advice from a few other lovely simblrs I was able to figure out it was a simple fix! With permission from MSTQ I decided to upload those fixed files! She’s going to update her post as well, but until then you can get the download from here! (sfs, ad-free)

High Content Wolfdog ᵔᴥᵔ

I originally wanted to give you 3 swatches but I didn’t had the time to work on it, so there’s only one for now. However, I may fix it later. Here is Nymeria, a 2 year old high-content wolfdog. She is currently searching for her forever home! Because Nymeria is a high-content wolfdog, she will require a home that has had previous wolfdog experience. Ideally, she would like to live outside of a city and have space to run around, but she will need proper containment. Nymeria is used to being indoors but she can be destructive when left unsupervised. A suitable home for her would not have any young kids as she is a big girl and might accidentally knock them over. She also isn’t a fan of sharing high value items so a home that understands resource guarding is a must. As every other wolf dog, Nymeria is a shy and particularly smart lady so make sure you can handle her. Please no small pets such as cats. cc used: (You must download the eyes; it will prevent you to have any issue, the wolf skin is also needed otherwise it is just a white dog) . eyes by @cakenoodles recolored by me (I added a few more colors) . dogs nails & whiskers (long version) by @sims4nexus . height slider by @pixelpfote . Grey Wolf Skin by me (find in Tail Category)
