Fretch Is My Aestetic

So this FU actually happened yesterday. My school hosts a big triathlon every year where teachers and students from across the school board come to our school to compete. The triathlon consists of a 1500m swim in a lake, followed by a 40k bike ride, ending with a 15k run. I decided to volunteer for this event.

My job was to pass out plastic water bottles and towels to competing cyclists about halfway through the bike race. my station was at the edge of a forest, were there is a very steep downhill followed by a sharp incline. The first hour or so went fine as most people stopped at the top of the hill for a drink before bombing the hill so they could make it back up the other side. Everything is running smoothly until this nifty looking cyclist with full spandex, fancy bike and helmet, looking like a real pro comes ripping down the trail. Here’s where the FU starts.

As my job requires, i see him coming down the trail so I hold a water bottle up and wiggle it in the air to offer him a drink. This slick guy decides to be a badass and take both hands off the handle bar while flying down the trail at least 50km/h, and holds them up like he’s going to catch a football.

Assuming this guy knows what he’s doing, I give the bottle a nice underhand toss to him, which of course flies right through his hands and smacks him square in the nose. He falls backwards off the bike and begins a violent roll all the way down this big hill, with his bike tumbling down with him. They both crash into the trees about 100m down the hill and he breaks his arm and his bike is mangled.

Turns out that guy was the principal of the other high school in town, and he was wanting me to throw him a towel, not a water bottle. Good thing I graduate in a month or I might have had to move far far away.

TL;DR - Tossed a water bottle to a school principal, knocked him off his bike and caused a crash breaking his arm and ruining his 800$ bike.
