Having a different point of view is good, it promotes diversity, and if everybody agreed with each other in this world then I reckon it’d be a pretty boring world. So when you get given another opinion, instead of saying hey I don’t agree with you - so i’m gonna shut you down by labelling you something. Maybe we should instead by like alright cool, I don’t personally agree with you, so why do you think that way? (if you really want you can engage in further discussion by saying that’s great, I see you’re point of view here and here, but on this bit you talked about, here’s how I view it, and I don’t quite get where you’re coming from, care to explain?)

If we’re gonna have an opinion, then that’s great, but lets find some facts or some evidence to back up our opinions. And then if you meet someone who thinks differently then great! Trade facts, ideas and opinions, and then we learn and grow as people, rather than shut each other down, and thus remain close-minded and ignorant to other peoples way of life.
