Penny Hart

“How’d the owner feel about you stealing all of his candy?” Aurelia teased, a small chuckle escaping the blonde’s lips as a result. “You know I always do, Pen, wouldn’t miss it for the world.”

quinn leaned against the reception desk over looking at her best friend who sat behind the desk. “i was about to say if there aren’t any caramels i was about to be very sad.” with that, she smiled and reached over and took one of the caramel candies and opened the wrapper before popping it into her mouth. “you should just put, ‘quinn’s caramels only’ so no one takes any of these.” she giggles and took a few more and put them into her pocket. “who am i to miss out on karaoke night, it’s like you don’t know me at all.” 

“I might have to sing it if I ever eat a skittle when expecting chocolate. After going into shock.” He said with a chuckle. “But we’ll see if that happens since you’ve fixed your issue now.” Julian said with a loud laugh of his own. “Next time if you give me a bit of a notice, i’ll get a baby sitter and you can hear me sing badly.” 

“Really?! You got yourself a deal!” Excitement painting her face, Penny gave a happy little wriggle and finally unwrapped her caramel and tossed it into her mouth with one of her signature grins. “Oh! You totally got a message this morning and I wrote it down!” Looking down at her mess of a desk, most people would expect her not to know where anything was, let alone a sticky note, but she seemed to reach down into the mass of papers and pull the reminder out without even a moment’s hesitation. Organized chaos for sure. “It’s Miranda from that chair place. She sounds cute. You should ask her out.”

Julian chuckled and shook his head. “I’m just impressed they are all in separate dishes this time Penny.” He laughed and grabbed an M&M. “Getting a skittle when i wanted an m&m.” Julian shivered. “Sorry. I can’t the little one doesn’t have a baby sitter. So i have to head straight home.” 

“That was the funniest face I’ve ever seen you make!” laughter rolling easily off her lips with little regard to her volume, Penny reached forward for a caramel, but only turned it over in her fingers instead of unwrapping it. “Aw that’s too bad! I’m still dying to hear you sing ‘I Will Survive’.”

“I just couldn’t decide, so I had to put out a bunch of different candies this time. I think I like it, all the shiny little dishes make the top of my desk look so pretty! Here we have... jelly beans, and M&Ms, then of course skittles and bubble gum beads and caramels, because we know Quinn loves them.” Waving a hand across the array of little plastic iridescent bowls that held her available choices, Penny took the opportunity to pluck an M&M out of it’s bowl and pop it into her mouth. “Are you coming to poor Richard’s for Karaoke tonight?”
