He flies with her (without her asking). He goes on a suicidal rescue mission for her. He takes her hand and puts Truth-Teller in it. He beats everyone, including his High Lady, to wish Elain a Happy Solstice. He looks out the windows in search of Elain.

The difference between 'sit, I'll take care of it' and 'It was too late to bank without appearing like he was running, ' is pretty startling.

You won’t be able to stay away, no matter what you do. (Rhys couldn’t stay away even after convincing himself she was better off, had somebody else she loved—kept coming back. Cass couldn’t stay away even after her countless attempts at pushing him away, kept giving her his hand, kept coming back. Azriel, control incarnate, couldn’t stay away even after knowing she could never be his, was probably better off without him. Kept coming back.)

You’ll feel irresistible and uncharacteristic bursts of emotions—shock for blasé Rhys, violent anger for patient Cass and blatant sadness for emotionless Az—if they reject you. You’ll feel blinding panic when they’re in danger. And you’ll throw yourself headfirst into war for them. (Rhys died to protect her, Cass crawled to protect her, Azriel went on a suicide mission to protect her)

You’ll drive yourself insane with jealousy, thinking about what they’re doing, who they’re with and still do what is right for them. (Rhys let her go thinking Tamlin was her happiness, Cass never said they are mates because it’d have made her unhappy, Azriel punishes himself daily thinking he’s not worthy and should stay away)

You will make unforgivable mistakes because sometimes the need to protect them will go way beyond their right to know. (Rhys kept the mating bond & pregnancy from her, Cass kept the mating bond from her, Azriel lied about not wanting her) You’ll stare and blush and stutter and hold multiple conversations just with your eyes, the kind of intimacy that cannot be physically explained. (Do you know how many times Rhys and Feyre have shared a glance? How many times Nesta looked at Cass for courage? Don’t even get me started on how many secrets Az and Elain know about each other without even talking)

You’ll hurt when they hurt. You’ll smile when they smile.

You’ll die when they die.

Because he is the only male character so far (aside from Graysen) that she has expressed interest in. She was the one to make a move on him (“put it on me?”). He is the only one she’s ever given gifts to. He is the only one she’s ever complimented and spent time with (willingly).

You either 1) don’t care about her autonomy and only value the wants and needs of the male characters. Or 2) want her out of the way, so you can ship Azriel with some random character he has no romantic feelings for.
