“you gave me the best of me so you’ll give you the best of you” is simultaneously the most simple lyric yet the one that touches your heart the most. like there’s not a lot of underlying meaning to the words, but the message at the end of the day is “if you can give us so much love, attention and care, helping to encourage us to be better artists and better people, and you can do this with all your heart, all the time, the least you can do is treat yourself the same way. it’s what you deserve.” and i honestly find that so touching :(
