A place for my problematic bullshit

I loooove ProtoPoppy! I wasn't too interested in it before Chapter 5, but now that we have actually seen their dynamic it's brilliant.

First of all. Posting something with them for Valentine's Day with the song Bernadette before confirming them to be siblings is very daring. Plus making them both have a scene among red petals in the Wronside Out music video? It's all so romantic coded. It feels so intentional.

There's also the fact that Poppy didn't know The Prototype was Ollie, and seemingly didn't know Ollie was her brother, given that this is never mentioned. I find it fascinating that Oliver was so gentle with Poppy in that tape- was that manipulation, or Oliver before being fully corrupted into a man who does nothing but lash out at the world around him? Or maybe Oliver doesn't feel like he can show the last remnants of his humanity as The Prototype, only as Ollie. Maybe he felt he could only show his humanity to her. Makes my wonder why he ended up dropping the act of Ollie... a feeling that it no longer served a purpose? Thinking that being harsh would be better for Poppy? A slight against her for betraying him by bringing the Player? Who knows.

Again on the topic of Poppy not knowing they're related... I find it somewhat funny that, in this interpretation, one could argue Proto didn't tell her they're meant to be sibling because he has a fucking crush on her. She's a fucking 2'' tall doll and this stupid thing has a crush on her. How is that not hilarious.

Joking aside, I do find it really compelling that Prototype, no matter how much she betrayed him and how murderous he is, always seems to keep her safe. It's clear that he didn't mean to break her face, and he's awful for keeping her locked away, but he genuinely wants him by his side forever because no one else could be by his side forever. There's something so tragically beautiful about them having completely opposite worldviews and ideologies, but being stuck together because they're the only two immortals in a place surrounded by death. That's the perfect tale for a toxic love story.

I've been thinking about my body headcanons for Poppy and 1006... I think Poppy's body would actually be really doll like on the outside- porcelain on the face, hands and feet but cloth for the rest of it to allow for more movement, like old porcelain dolls.

She's very bottom heavy to balance out the weight of the head. And since she doesn't need to eat and she's so small I imagine she doesn't really have genitals of any kind since they'd be superfluous. Why add unnecessary organs when you can do with fewer.
