A collection of photos of Phoenix by Chinese contemporary artist Xu Bing. Built over 2 years (2008-10) with materials culling from the trash & debris of construction sites of the rapidly developing Beijing urban landscape.  The two birds, a male called Feng and a female called Huang - each weighing 12 tons & measuring 90-100 feet long, will be on view at St. John the Divine Cathedral in New York City for the duration of 2014.
