GLASS ONION: A KNIVES OUT MYSTERY (2022) SENTENCE STARTERS
â You canât keep making excuses for every one of [name]âs insane whims. â
â Genius always looks like insanity at first, though, right? â
â Hey, please stop fire-spinning inside. â
â I say it like I see it, no filter. If people canât handle it, thatâs their problem. â
â Youâve got to stay off the Twitter. â
â Are you mocking me? â
â This canât Shazam. Itâs a lamp. â
â Whereâs my speargun? I gotta pack. â
â He told me you havenât left the bath for a week. â
â My mind is a fueled-up racing car, and I got nowhere to drive it. â
â I need danger, a hunt, a challenge. â
â Thereâs someone here for you! With a box! â
â Hello, stranger danger. â
â Excuse me, I love your accent. I had to try it. â
â You must be very special. â
â When you throw a murder mystery party, you do it right, buddy. â
â Iâm not here. â
â Heâs just staying here. Heâs going through things. â
â This rich-people shit is weird. â
â This is stretching my stride-taking abilities. â
â Okay, letâs stop talking and actually start hanging out and having fun. â
â Why is it on the roof? â
â I wanted to ask, what are you doing here? â
â Is this part of the game? â
â Iâve learned through bitter experience that an anonymous invitation is not to be trifled with. â
â You really try. I like that. You really make an effort. â
â You never know when shitâs gonna go down. â
â Iâm uncomfortable. Iâm gonna go for a swim. â
â Itâs true. I say it like I see it. â
â If you want to shake things up, you start with something small. â
â Thatâs the place where you have to look within yourself and ask, âAm I the kind of person who will keep going?â â
â That was some real red-pill stuff. â
â Every single one of you is holding on for dear life to [name]âs golden titties. â
â Wow. That was so real. â
â Iâm a truth-teller. Some people canât handle it. â
â Itâs a dangerous thing to mistake speaking without thought for speaking the truth. Donât you think? â
â Are you calling me dangerous? â
â A few cocktails before Iâm murdered. â
â Halle Berry! That has a kick. â
â This simple thing that you thought you were looking at, it suddenly takes on layers and depth so complex, it gives you vertigo. â
â Every time weâve gotten to the point where Iâm going to strangle you, you pull something like this, and itâs magic. â
â I wanna be responsible for something that gets mentioned in the same breath as the Mona Lisa. â
â This is reckless. And youâre gonna get somebody killed. â
â Itâs been a memorable weekend already, to be sure, but now the real fun starts. â
â Tonight, in this very room, a murder will be committed. â
â Well, to be clear, I mean, I didnât know what a âblood diamondâ was so⌠â
â What am I supposed to do now? Play Yahtzee all weekend? â
â I like the Glass Onion as a metaphor. An object that seems densely layered, but in reality the center is in plain sight. â
â Itâs like putting a loaded gun on the table and turning off the lights! â
â Well, Iâm out of here. Tomorrow morning. Gone. â
â Youâre murdering my vibe. â
â So you come here, in your Gucci flats, telling us that we owe you? â
â What do you want? A check? You want performative pity? â
â I want the truth! â
â But me, Iâm tired of pretending like youâre the victim in this game. â
â That changes things, right? â
â Have we ever not pulled through? Pulled it off? â
â We wonât know the cause of death without an autopsy. â
â Listen, I must insist that nobody touch the body or disturb anything around it. â
Are you treating this as a crime scene then? â
â Iâll pay you one billion dollars to tell me which one of them tried to kill me. â
â Oh, fiddlesticks. â
â Is that a speargun? â
â Oh, hellâs bells! Just, everybody, just stay here! â
â I can peel back the layers, I can take it to a point, but what lies at the center, only one person can tell us who killed [name]. â
â Youâre not in the bath again, are you? â
â Heavens, the dog ate the caviar again. â
â Itâs a stupid idea, right? â
â Listen, I want to be clear, huh? I am not Batman. â
â Any feelings of reverence or respect that you had for me when you crossed my threshold, buttress those feelings now. â
â Yeah, Iâm trying real hard to buttress, but this sounds nuts. â
â Is this safe? â
â I shouldnât be here. This is nuts. But Iâm here. So letâs do this. â
â The reality-distortion field ends here. I canât let you do this. â
â Look me in the eye! You know itâs a lie! â
â You must be really great at Clue, huh? â
â Iâm very bad at dumb things. My Achillesâ heel. â
â This is your last chance to back out. â
â I think itâs really shitty what they all did to you. â
â I sold my soul for this. â
â I thought you said you didnât drink? â
â Thatâs hard kombucha. Thatâs Jared Letoâs hard kombucha. â
â Weâre running out of time! â
â Please. Think of the danger here. You gotta step back and let me handle this. â
â I never email anything that I wouldnât want to see on the front page of The Times. â
â I think maybe you should take up drinking. Youâre just killing it. â
â Something is just teasing the edge of my brain. â
â Oh, if I ever meet Jared Leto, Iâm gonna whoop his kombucha-brewing ass. â
â My therapist says this is a toxic relationship. â
â We will do what we always do. Deny, half-apologize, and then go silent awhile. â
â Please tell me you did not think sweatshops are where they make sweatpants. â
â I will do whatever I have to do to save myself, and he is my only lifeline. â
â This never happens in Clue. â
â Heâs a son of a bitch. Leave his ass. â
â I donât feel sorry for him. He deserved what he got, and you are better off without him. â
â Please donât kill me! Oh my God, please donât kill me! â
â Iâm not trying to kill you, you crazy bitch! â
â Shitballs! â
â It hides not behind complexity, but behind mind-numbing obvious clarity. â
â A veritable minefield of malapropisms and factual errors. â
â Oh, please. Just tell us who tried to kill me. â
â Nobody tried to kill you, you vainglorious buffoon. â
â What is reality?! â
â Does he keep a vial of poison in his tooth or something? Is that a rich person thing? â
â Oh, itâs so dumb, itâs brilliant. â
â No! Itâs just dumb! â
â You dim-witted, brainless jackass! â
â Your one murder, with any panache at all, and you stole the whole idea from me. â
â Wow! We got some big accusations flying around here. â
â You need evidence, and youâve got nothing. â
â Anywhere you go, itâs going to be your word against mine. How do you think thatâs gonna go? â
â Thereâs nothing I can do. Except maybe offer you some courage. â
â I hope your little bitch tantrum gave you closure âcause it accomplished nothing! â
â Youâre ruined. â
â Did you get the son of a bitch? â
         PERCY JACKSON  &  PROMETHEUS
Before I say anything else, I would like to say that I love Percy Jackson. I donât even have that big of an issue with Prometheus in PJO, but I felt like it might be worth it to discuss his appearance in the series and my thoughts.
When Jupiter learned this from Prometheus, who had heard these sayings, he abandoned his wish to marry Thetis. For his good deed, Jupiter freed Prometheus from his chains and ordered his finger to be bound with stone and iron as a remembrance. Because of this custom, men still use rings comprised of stone and silver as a remembrance of friendship, and they began to keep them as a token of friendship.
friendship rings.

@prometheysâ dared /  â  i  thought  this  time  would  be  different .  â
â    YOU  HOPED  THAT  it  this  time  would  be  different.    â    correction  comes  with  a  tut,    the  offensive  word  flicking  upon  the  tip  of  her  tongue  and  filling  her  mouth  with  the  taste  of  blood  from  such  an  assault.    amora  stretches  out  at  his  side,    fingers  threading  together  behind  her  back  as  arms  rise  over  her  head    -    cage  extends,    muscles  sigh  in  relief,    but  it  is  truly  a  way  to  fill  the  silence  and  placate  his  need  for  COMMISERATION.    amora  knows  theyâve  seen  the  cruel  inside  of  imprisonment,    the  way  it  smells  of  blood  and  the  stagnation  of  forgotten  things    -    she  does  not  intend  to  relive  such  a  time  for  him.
â    i  would  have  thought  that  sentiment  had  died  in  you  long  ago,    prometheus.    â    it  is  not  a  placement  of  blame  or  even  a  delicate  means  to  belittle  him    -    there  is  AWE  in  her  voice  that  such  a  thing  would  persist  in  him  when  she  had  all  but  torn  it  out  when  it  no  longer  served  her.    there  is  a  hole  there  where  it  had  once  been,    now  filled  with  the  emptiness  of  apathy  and  the  gnawing  longing  of  those  who  are  CURSED  to  remain  unquenched.
