Context: World Seabird Day is held on July 3, marking when the extinct Great Auk (Pinguinus impennis) was last seen in 1844. The last pair, found incubating an egg, were killed on Eldey in June 1844, when Icelandic sailors Jón Brandsson and Sigurður Ísleifsson strangled the adults and Ketill Ketilsson cracked the last egg of the species with his boot during the struggle.

meet my latest cringe creation. oc au called "o'malley secondary: ks4 takeover". based on this one obscure british show on citv/sky tv. all characters in this au are humanised versions of past non-human ocs that i have created.

Hehehe RAMM stands for Royal Albert Memorial Museum, it's basically this museum in Exeter (UK) that looks small on the outside but contains loads of cool stuff (with these specimens being some of them) and collections!! I honestly didn't expect to see any extinct birds there, hence my overreaction when I saw the specimens lol
I think they even have a Tumblr account lol... I didn't realize that when I posted this though
I also have silly recently extinct bird ocs that I haven’t touched in forever and the media with them that’s available to the public I accidentally made one of the characters woodpecker racist. I’m not giving context but that is no longer canonical
HELP... I made an entire fanfic for one of the fandoms that I am in on my alt account (@nicleotidez) and I made it canon that (almost) everyone is racist towards IBWOs because they can... (unfortunately this is still canon btw, it plays an important part in the story because the main character is literally an ivory-bill)
