“Thanks miss..see thats the kind of encouragement that does keep my spirits lifted..I appreciate it big time.” he said with a smile of his own. “Eh, mostly just friends and fans, and you of course..thats all I really need to keep me going.”

“I’m happy to have lifted up your spirits.. looks like you did need it a bit.” she tells him, a soft smile across her lips. “Well, at least you do have people and you will continuously have my support, I promise you that.”

“Thanks miss, I appreciate that..im kinda used to my talent being overlooked over the years, but thats never deterred me.” he said in a confident tone. “Any kind of support sometimes willing to give me means a whole lot.”

“Good, you should never be discouraged by that because I know that you’re talented and I’m sure a lot of people will realize it sooner.” she promises with a warm smile. “Well, I’m sure you have a lot of support from family, teachers, students, and fans.”

“Maybe, you’re just the only professor ive had thats actually..been vocal about it.” he said with a short nod. “I suppose so, it feels good to have this support.” he mused with a warm smile. 

“Well, that’s too bad because you’re tons of talented, Kai.. don’t let anyone try and convince you otherwise.” she tells him with a soft warm smile. “And you would continuously have this support.” she promised. 

“Thanks, its cool that someone notices.” he said with a light smile. “Violet does  have that motherly vibe to her..kinda one mom too many, but I guess its nice too.” he chuckled.

“Like I said, I’m sure your other professor notices as well.” she tells him with a smile. “It just shows that you have a whole bunch of people who care about you and all.” she points out before laughing as well. 

“Which is a compliment… Because, uh, who doesn’t love cookies?” Matt failed at talking his way out of it so he offered her one of his charming smiles instead. “True enough. Do you get invited to many though? Cause, in my opinion, it seems like a damn shame if you’re not, miss.” When was the last time Matt had thought a teacher could be anything but annoying? Oh, right, never. “You know, I’d be honoured if you taught me your ways.”

“Oh.. why, then thank you.” Juliette says with a small smile, seeing right through the guys charming smiles. “Believe it or not, I was a big partier when I wasn’t studying.” she admits as she laughs a bit, remembering her college experience. “My job is to teach about music, not teach ways about getting away from the cops.”

“Ive got no reason not to be, I do usually put some effort in my work even if I put it off.” he nodded with a faint smile. “And here I thought one mom was enough-but I know, ive gotten this same lecture plenty of times.”

“Oh, I know that you put in a whole lot of effort in every piece of your work, it clearly shows.” she informs him, smiling at him. “Well, hey now you got two moms.. actually you techinally do have two moms without me considering you’re married to Violet.. so doesn’t that make her mom basically your mom as well? But looks like I’m your third mother.” she laughs. 

“Hey, I still get it done..and the quality of the work barely looks like I did it last minute.” he defended with a chuckle as he raised an eyebrow at the look on her face. “I feel like im talking to my mom right now.”

“Ooh, I see that you’re still confident about your work which is a good thing.” she states with a warm smile. “I am your mom away from your mom.. we had this talk before, plus your mom had this talk with you.”

“Hmm, a soft cookie.” Matt nodded interested, always quick to disregard the boundaries between people of different status. “I guess throwing a late night party, inside the dorm building, with everyone invited to come and drink without supervision, really isn’t that serious indeed.” It almost sounded as if he meant the opposite but Matthew just shrugged indifferently, leaving it up to the other to decide on the matter. With a jaw dropping down and a clearly surprised, edging to impressed, look, he heard her story. Whistling before replying, “Geez, something tells me that was a lie… and not a weak one either. Has got a level of empathy in it which probably worked in your favour. Nice.” He summed up in his own way of praising her.

“Did you just call me a soft cookie?” Juliette questions while rising an eyebrow before chuckling a bit. “Honestly, that’s typical college stuff, there’s a party like every other weekend.” she flat outs tells the other while shrugging. Letting out a small laughter at his reaction, she nodded her head. “Works every damn time, I had a gift while talking to the police.”

“You might have said so once or twice.” he softly replied with an innocent smile pulling at his lips.

“I know for a fact I’ve said it more than once.” she replies giving him another look as she laughs even more. “What am I going to do with you?” she says in amusement.

“I mean, on a personal level perhaps. But as teachers… It’s like you all teach different classes but follow the same rules, no?” Matt pointed out. “Oh, you’re just gonna leave it at that?” His eyebrows rose as realization kicked in. “C'mon, miss, what’s the second wildest thing you’ve done?”

“Erm.. something like that. I mean I’m not one to tell on my students if it isn’t anything serious.” Juliette admits to the guy while shrugging her shoulders a bit. “Yup, that’s all you’re going to get.” she states while laughing a bit before scrunching up her face a bit. “Hmm.. one of the wildest experiences ever was that the cops were pulling us over and I lied and said that I was driving fast to get my friend to the hospital because she wasn’t feeling well.”

“I’d consider myself more lazy than anything, I either save the work last minute or..forget about it completely.” he chuckled.

“Didn’t I tell you to not procrastinate?” she says while scowling at him before shaking her head and chuckling lightly. 

“To be honest i’d be surprised if they actually did, im not always the most productive of students in some teachers eyes.” he chuckled. 

“Are you saying that you’re a bad child that doesn’t do their work?” She rises an eyebrow at him, almost motherly as she shakes her head slightly. 

“Oh no, quite the opposite actually..it actually helps my pride a little knowing at least one teacher likes me.” he answered with grin.

“Oh, I’m sure that there are a ton of other teachers that like you as well, they just won’t show it.” she states while giving him a smile. 

“Yeah, im not so sure about that..im not exactly the model student to most teachers.” he said with a humble shrug. “A little, I mean there are some strange people out there so you never know.”

“Hm, are you trying to convince me to not like you?” she teased the blonde while chuckling a bit. “Oh, totally.. there’s a ton of weird people out there for sure.” 

“Huh, well..im fairly sure im not any other teachers favorite so thats different.” he chuckled. “If they do then they’re just strange.”

“Oh, please I’m sure that you are.. you’re just not aware of it.” she simply states while shrugging her shoulders. “That is beyond strange..”

“Are you for real?! I mean, are you sure, miss? Cause I’ve got a set of teachers who would beg to differ.” A small hint of betrayal snuck up on him. Though he’d probably deserved all the detention and extra work he got, it was hard to imagine the dean had been involved in that every single time. Which led him once again to the conclusion that teachers didn’t mean it when they said they cared. Was the one in front of him an exception? “I sure do wonder how you would make a party fun then, miss.”

“Nah, I hadn’t noticed..and here I thought teachers weren’t supposed to play favorites.” he said with a smug grin. “Been there, done that..don’t really wanna again anytime soon.”

“Well, we aren’t, but all teachers do have favorites.. just a heads up.” she tells him shrugging her shoulders a bit. “I totally get that.. nobody enjoys waking up and feeling sick.”
