La maggior parte le fiabe tradizionali italiane hanno sempre avuto come protagonisti uomini che intraprendono incredibili avventure. I personaggi femminili protagonisti sono molti meno, e il loro unico obiettivo - o il massimo che possono ottenere dalla vita - è essere belle e sposare il principe di turno. Samuel Daveti ha preso una fiaba della tradizione e invertito i personaggi maschio/femmina, facendo vivere alla protagonista Pomeria quel genere di avventure riservate prettamente agli uomini. Una figura che si emancipa dalla situazione di partenza di angelo del focolare e diventa una delle più grandi esploratrici dei mari, che verrà vista con invidia e sospetto, che verrà fischiata quando non accetta la mano del principesso, che preferisce continuare a scrivere la sua storia che a vivere felice e contenta.

The protagonists of most traditional italian fairy tales are men who embark upon incredible journeys. Main female characters are quite rare, their sole purpose is to be beautiful, marrying a prince is the best outcome they can expect in life. In this tale, Samuel Daveti swapped the male and female characters, making Pomeria experience those great adventures that were exclusive to men. She emancipates herself from the role of a fairy godmother and protector of the household to become the greatest explorer of the seas. She is treated with envy and suspicion, booed when she refuses the hand of the prince and decides to keep writing her own future instead of living happily ever after.
