Denji doesn’t want sex. Denji wants intimacy and love and care. He doesn’t understand the difference between romantic/platonic/unconditional love and sexual love. Which is understandable because he is a 16 year old boy who has never had a single healthy parental figure in his entire life. Honestly, Asexual Denji is one of the best interpretations of his character because as soon as he realizes the genuine love he has for Power and Aki without feeling any kind of lust for them, he almost completely forgets about wanting to have sex with anyone. He doesn’t think he needs it anymore. And when he loses that feeling, he goes back to Makima not to ask for sex, but to ask her to treat him like one of her dogs. The creatures that she seems to treat with nothing but genuine love an affection. Denji thinks he wants sex because that’s what he thinks he’s supposed to want, but once he realizes what genuine platonic/familiar love feels like, he doesn’t want it anymore.
