For the lack of activity, I’m sorry about that. I will try to get to being active again once I settle in Busan and in my new home. (Hopefully there’s internet connection in my apartment but definitely will make some time to do some replies when I’m in my hotel on my first night in Busan.) My flight to Busan will be in a couple of days and I have been running around trying to pack my whole life in 3 suitcases.

Weaving through a plethora of topics with the natural flow of conversation made Jung-hwan’s energy lax. The correlation between visibility and hyperactive nature was evident in how his body solidified through tête-à-tête. The pitch of his voice simmered, returning to its former state prior to the supposed confrontation surrounding the other’s age. ❝ It’s harder for people to believe something when they don’t comprehend it themselves. ❞ The poltergeist watched as the other hesitated before a passerby, watched as an older woman carried bags perched on her forearms ascended from the subway station and sauntered towards an apartment complex in the distance. It made him laugh, the subtle chuckle shaking his shoulders as he craned his neck to the sky, smiling at the thought of the high school student impressing his noona. ❝ Older women are more appealing… ❞
The smile suddenly wavers and erodes as he compared himself to said student, the difference in physical characteristics causing his blood to boil in annoyance; Jung-hwan was envious, and it showed in how quick he was to express his disdain. ❝ But just because you look older, doesn’t mean you can treat me as you are! ❞ He points to himself for emphasis, speaking over the sudden onslaught of traffic. ❝ I might be dead, but I’m still older– at least five years older. ❞ He looms over the curb to stand before him, chest erect and hands cupped into fists. Maintaining the facade required more energy than he was willing to exert, therefore Jung-hwan opted to extend a hand towards the younger, to initiate a handshake.
❝ …Let’s try this again– I’m Lee Junghwan, from Sokcho. ❞
🎧 – Opening up about himself towards a person-- Could he call him that? They’re not that different except with one exception but does that change if they were overall a human being or not? The thoughts spiraling in his head dispersed from the headache he was giving himself as the male made a comment about the appeal of the age of females. A shrug was made quickly after, “I wouldn’t know, no one else seemed appealing,” Sooha responded, not knowing of his love blind trait that he acquired from his past woman.
Now the age between the two males were directed and the student couldn’t help but allow a chuckle be the reaction. “Does that make you... Twenty four? Using honorifics... I don’t want to,” his rude attitude was quickly unrevealed once the other demanded respect from him; due to having no family members to properly teach him or close relationships with other humans, he was left to casual tone of speech to majority of people.
Sooha’s attention rotated from the view of the faded image of the ghost’s face to the arm that extended towards him. Mirroring the body language, still in a sitting position, the mind reader smiled after the introduction as if the bond became stronger just by a few simple words. “Since I told you my romance life, it’s now your turn. Did you have a woman back then?”
“you should be able to explain what you believe in” her voice calmed back down; it was composed and thoughtful again. words spurred out slowly, calmly. “what would you do if someone asked why” her eyes shifted down at the floor for a moment. “why is your reality like that, why is your truth like that? everything you believe in is a matter of what you can explain. everything has a reason” her own reality was tough. rarely did eunyeon think about her past, but what was going on between her brought her to think how her mind was formed as she was raised in the two different homes. very different. one wouldnt accept answers that werent validated by science as truth, the other didnt care about her reasons. they didnt ask. it was a step from what she was safe in to what she wasn’t used to; an extreme changed.and it had changed her.
🎧 – Even after predicting what she was going to say and mimicking her words didn’t further her speculations upon him. “I’m not believing what I said... I can tell what you will say before you can say it,” he explained himself without digging out saying his mind reading powers. “What would you do if someone knew everything before you can speak it? How would you react if your thoughts of reality was completely different than how you expected? What would you say when there’s no explanation of why this can happen?” His eyes studied hers for some time before continuing after reading her unspoken words. “Living in two different homes... You’ve been through two polar opposite ends of the world...” It was time for her truth and reality to come crashing down by him.
“Of course.” Aika smiled sweetly at Sooha. her cooking wasn’t the best even if Aika herself would not admit so, thus the rice was a little overdone and very sticky but it looked semi-cute as she made it to look like a panda with a little seaweed. In seaweed cutting her skills also weren’t great but it looked like a panda at least. A few of the sausages were slightly burned but for her the lunch was quite okay, considering her skill. Aika noted one of the girls who gasped clearly getting a little angry, but she herself kept her sweet smile and only looked over once Jihoo started interrupting. How cute, was he one of those guys who pushed the girl he liked on the playground and pulled her pigtails? Aika doubted Jihoo was interested in her, though his words sure sounded like jealousy. Perhaps he wished his crush would make him a lunchbox. “What, Kwangsu didn’t pack you a lunchbox so you’re jealous?” She giggled sweetily. “Kwangsu-ah!” She called him informally and continued. “Jihoo wants you to make a lunchbox for him! Ah..” She put her finger to her lips and then got up. “I got it! You have a crush Jihoo!” She smirked. “Who is it? Who is it?” She jumped in her place happily and made sure to come closer to make Jihoo uncomfortable. “You’re jealous Sooha gets all the attention. Well he is smarter, and taller, and more handsome… So it only makes sense he gets more action. But don’t worry.” She puts her hand on Jihoo his shoulder. “Maybe one day you’ll also find someone who likes you.” She smiled at him before taking her seat at Sooha his desk back. She got the other lunchbox out. “I’d give you my other lunchbox cause i feel sad for you, but i don’t want to ruin my date with Sooha. Sorry.” She placed the lunchbox down and opened it to start eating with the male.
🎧 – The overall rating of appearance-wise on the homemade food in front of him wasn’t the top chef sort of appeal but at the same time neither was the preparation that was done on the meal. He noticed the slightly overcooked sausages and the lack of skills with the vegetable portion, however it was the thought that counted right? Simultaneously when Sooha started on dining in, Aika decided to give her attention to the class bully-- Or clown-- He wasn’t sure anymore. Though, through his eyes, Jihoo was definitely a clown. The conversation between the two became background noise as his eyes wandered on the food between his chopsticks. Lips curled in a way that showed sign of slight disappointment towards her cooking skills but he kept his lectures inside-- For now. Once Aika started interrogating the kid in the class, he also jumped from his seat and his voice gaining volume as he spoke back to the foreigner. “Why are you questioning me when you have a crush on Sooha!?” At this point, Sooha noticed his name being part of the conversation but again, he didn’t want to make a scene. Before Aika returned to her seat, she made a comment that caused the entire class to twist in their direction like a magnet and at the same time Sooha choked on his food upon hearing the vocabulary used. Date!? He could only stared at her in disbelief while she indulged herself into the box placed in front of her as if nothing happened. “You might give people the wrong idea...” The mind reader spoke lowly, moving around his rice a bit before taking a bite.

“H-her?” He stammered out, unsure of what – who – exactly the younger was questioning him about. Maybe his love interest? That can’t be right, considering my love interest is a boy.He laughed to himself, unaware that Sooha could hear his every thought. It wasn’t that he didn’t like girls– they were fine. Wonderful, even. But Changjo had fallen in love with some of the male gender, and there was no helping it. The only relevant women in Changjo’s life would be his mother, sister, and a few of his close friends. Other than that– there really were no ladies that held any value to him, at least not in a romantic way. But it wasn’t like he could just tell Sooha that.
“Ah– Is it obvious?” Changjo laughed a bit, bringing his hand up to awkwardly ruffle the hair on his neck. Good thing he had acting skills. He and Byunghun would be dead if any outsiders learned of their relationship, so he’d just pretend that L.Joe was a girl. It wasn’t like the high schooler could verify his words, right? “She’s… really sweet! Very cute. A big heart. She tries to act ‘cool’, but she’s really a playful and friendly person… I love her a lot. I wouldn’t trade hi– her– for anything in the world.”
🎧 – Things were getting interesting now when the male fumbled to gather his words about his relationship. Burying the truth. Humans lived a life depending on lies to hold a stable ground on earth but Sooha was somehow different. Telling the truth was something that he felt was always right because in one way or another, that lie people try to protect so much will be exposed and will end up hurting someone more than the truth would. However, there were reasons this particular male had to... For his career... People’s judgement on him and his special other... Among other logic.
“Ah, really?” He pretended not to notice the slight slip up-- It wasn’t his business to uncover the real gender behind the conversation. For that to be brought up would be on the latter’s job. “Isn’t that a typical thing anyone would say about their lover? All those traits sounds scripted. What’s your favorite thing about... Her? Personality or looks?”
“ah….” was all the male could utter out. if he had to be honest, he was slightly worried he wouldnt know exactly who due to the fact that three were tall and three others were tall enough. however, once sooha had said ‘tallest’ and ‘shortest’, he knew exactly who they were. “i see” he nodded his head. “fair warning though, changjo can be really……. weird.”
chanhee stayed quiet as he listened to what the other had to say. it interested him how grades isnt much of an importance to the high schooler. usually, at this age for most people, grades and school in general is their life. sometimes the pressure of being the best in school can be too much to the point where they walk on the path of no return. the male soon chuckled. “yah the married life isnt that bad if you find the right one.” he nodded his head, talking from what he experienced so far. he then kept his eyes on the highschooler, waiting for him to describe more of his love interest. however only two adjectives left sooha’s mouth. “…. really? only pretty and nice?” chanhee blinked. “that’s it?” a sigh left his lips before he shook his head. ‘so descriptive this one…. it’s like i know exactly who she is…’ “find her? you havent kept in contact with her? do you know her name at least or….”
shivering from the cold, the older male moved his hand behind him to lift the hooded part of his jacket up and on his head. chanhee’s attention was then averted back to sooha once he asked about dating. he couldnt deny it: dating and being in a relationship as an idol was twice as hard as he originally thought. he’s well aware that many fans would take it badly whilst others would be happy and brush it off. he was fortunate enough to not get caught with how secretive he was and that he didnt go out much but he knew one day he needed to share that part of his life eventually. nodding his head lightly, he spoke. “it’s hard but it depends. for me it’s hard, maybe even harder because of my occupation. i cant take her out on dates freely as i want and i also cant be affectionate to her publicly because of dispatch. if i get caught, it’ll affect not only me but my group as well. fortunately enough, i didnt get caught yet but eventually i need to tell everyone that I’m with someone for the rest of my life. for you it’s a different story. you can freely take her out on a date or hold her hand and not worry about getting caught or being bashed on by fans. as long as both you and this mystery girl treat each other well and talk out problems instead of fighting, dating wont be as hard as you thought.” chanhee then nudged the younger’s elbow before giving him a small smile. “if you’re that interested in dating her, i can help you find her you know?”
🎧 – Laughter broke out after the male spoke about his members in his group, “Geez... Thanks for the late warning. The guy thinks a lot and most of the time I can’t even keep up with him... Verbally and mentally,” Sooha remembered the encounter and tilted his head. “But you can’t say you’re not weird yourself.”
His face masked into disgust once the marriage lecture began, it was too early in his age to think about such things and he wasn’t ever thinking about that far into the future. His main priority was keeping the woman of his past safe from whoever she was trying to protect him-- Even herself from. “Are you trying to brag about your married life?” His expression showed innocence since he knew mostly about the interior lives of idols fairly easily. “And how exactly am I supposed to describe someone I’ve only met once ten years ago? Knowing her name would have been nice... From what I remembered, she had lots of books in her home,” his memories played against the back of his eyes as he remembered the texture of the past. “Even though she had a job, she was attentive to me without knowing who I was. She did not only saved my life from a car accident but also a reason why I’m continuing to live.”
Noticing the new action from the male, Sooha couldn’t help but force out a tease in the perfect moment, “Did you still want more ice cream? Want another jacket while you’re at it?” But he gave his undivided attention to the male’s current story about the difficulties between his romantic life and his career. Both probably equally important to him. In such circumstances, it couldn’t be avoided but had to be done behind the curtains with precaution in every turn you take. “Living like that... Is it worth it? Day to day, wondering if you’ll get caught... It could cause damage not only to your career but your relationship too, wouldn’t it?” Even though he wasn’t particularly ever really interested in idols or their lives, he had few connections to the famous class. Once the topic was back upon himself, Sooha again gave his typical face of revulsion in order to hide his real feelings. Holding hands with her-- Dating her-- All these thoughts that he tried to avoid thinking about. “Aish, it’s not like that! I just like her...”
Her eyes rose from the table when he began to compare the two of them. A nod of her head signaled her listening as she made a couple notes for herself, biting on her bottom lip, ‘It’s a similarity but also a difference. I should know how it works.’ Although slightly frustrated with herself, her arms dropped from the hold on her body, definitely more relaxed than when the conversation began. Her thoughts were no longer a jumbled mess, having coherency to them now.
It was a question she knew would come up, and the one she was most worried about explaining. Eunseong sighed as she contemplated the best way to explain it, without revealing too much about herself, about her past. “You were the one who set it off; I know that for sure.” There was a pause followed by a deep breath before she continued. “I said that it judges based on prior experiences. Well, I used to know someone like you, someone who could read thoughts, but-” There was another pause to take another breath, her hands now clasped together. “But he could also change thoughts if ever so slightly to manipulate others, and he did that to someone I truly cared about.” Her hands were now visibly shaking a bit as images from her past flooded her head before she shook her head rapidly as if to ground her back to Earth. “It probably initially went off because of that similarity, but turned off when it realized you could only read and not change thoughts.”
🎧 – After comprehending the story that was told to him-- Another person who was just like him-- He wasn’t alone in mind reading but the new information about the new individual was almost frightening. If it was true, then the danger ringtone that chimed in the female’s mind was a warning that he could be like whoever she was talking about. Could he wind up doing something like that? Could he potentially have the ability to mentally hurt people? It wasn’t possible, he had no desire for that ability-- Hell, he wished he didn’t have this current predicament either but he was forced to live in the noisy world.
“He... Manipulated them? There’s others that can read thoughts? Did he ever say how or why?” Sooha simply wanted answers ever since he gained this special trait a decade ago with no explanation. The male caught a brief thought of the images in her past through her eyes while she had spoke and suddenly he was also in her similar state. Trembling. “No worries though, I didn’t ask to read minds. Changing minds isn’t something in my interest either but what happened...? If you don’t mind me asking. That man... What the hell did he do?”
An airy laughter spilled from her lips, “I just don’t want to make you feel bad about your drawing.” She allowed him to sit with her, welcoming his presence. It was amazing that the male had so easily distracted her from her thoughts of her family and future, even if it was just momentarily. Ahyoung pursed her lips at the next question. She had a bad habit of binge drinking but she’d like to think of herself as an average drinker since she didn’t do it that often. “Sometimes,” she comments lightly, “mostly a social thing.” The girl would never openly admit that she drank to forget and get away from her thoughts at times as well.
🎧 – Removing his school bag from his shoulders and settling it next to him before continuing the conversation, Sooha allowed himself to make himself seated in a comfortable position with elbows and arms propped onto the table. “I guess that’s normal,” he noted the country’s culture in their massive drinking habits during social events, primarily a way to get away from all the stress from their daily lives-- In his opinion anyways. “Maybe it’s because I don’t normally socialize or have anything I want to forget,” he mainly was talking to himself but a genuine smile lifted upon his lips from connecting his simplicity in his life. “Are you going to school for art? Shouldn’t waste a good talent.”
&remembering.
confusion. her hands fell limp in his grasp and she shook her head with little understanding of what he had meant; though his words continued to sound against the blurred noises surrounding them and a little gasp slipped from her mouth once she came to the realization. she was in disbelief, how ironic it was that he was able to play time so well. with her brows furrowed she bit at her quivering lip, almost as if to either suppress her laughter or to demonstrate how guilty she had felt, before her head dipped to stare at the ground.again, another deep breath was drawn from her mouth followed by glances directed toward him with a small but careful grin. he must’ve been really worried.
“I wasn’t going to do whatever you thought I was going to do.”
she allowed the space between them to fall into momentarily silence as she watched him recollect; the little smile still evident upon her face as her fingers reached out to lightly squeeze his hand in both comfort and gratitude. but amidst of their silence she found herself desperately trying to suppress her laughter by biting her teeth against her bottom lip—though a little, faint noise of laughter was be made. she’s still thankful for him though, that she can’t argue with.
it just surprised her how life really had a funny way of working around things.
“but… thanks again.” she says quietly, voice barely above a whisper. “you have a knack for being at places when you need to be, hmm?” there it is again, her laughter that draws out with warmth and comfort, an effort to lighten the tension that was brought between them. “I’m sorry for getting you all worked up, sooha.”
🎧 – Rather than a mournful greeting, the female’s reaction was more of a humor invitation with a forced down laughter into her throat as she explained herself. Although he was relaxed and left dumbfounded to the gathered information, Sooha felt as if he was the most relieved person on the planet at the moment. “Aish... And I had a whole lecture prepared for you too,” his voice was stern but full of a joking manner intertwined. Had he regret his decision after realizing the truth? No, a life worth saving was more important than something he could come across once again in the later future. Even it was something he had waited more than half his life on.
By now his heavy breathing had come to a more calm and steady pace before he continued the conversation. “What were you doing here then anyways?” The sounds of her laughter created a more soothing aura now from the more intense one just beforehand. The fingers that were wrapped against hers loosened a bit, his head twisted towards the direction where she was focusing on before his arrival. “You didn’t happen to have another accident, did you?” His tone shifted into a more worrisome one as he took a glance at her to ensure she was okay.

🎧 – Upcoming scenes of the moment he stood as a witness to a murder were unfolded right in front of his eyes as he was a bystander. The sun had already rested for the day and the only thing that gave him a glimpse of light were the dim illuminations from the street lamps provided to the public. Prior before the devastating sight, he had read the particular man who held a knife towards an individual with other bodies in the same uniform surrounding them. “No!” He had called out but it was far too late, the deed was done when the helpless prey’s body was pierced by the weapon in hand. If he had walked home from the evening school earlier... If only he arrived a few minutes prior to this, maybe he could have convinced them to spare the life. The person who died... Was it right? Did they deserve such treatment? His voice that called out a few seconds ago echoed in the streets, causing attention driven towards the alleyway. Sooha was still in a state of shock, not knowing how to handle such situations but turning his back was not one of them.
