i think what bothers me the most about the witcher casting is that...
everyone is ~cuter~ than i imagined them to be. like way too cute.
am I the only one who finds henry cavill's acting...bad?
when tissaia de vries was like âthereâs not a person alive that does not look into the mirror and see some deformity............except for usâ reblog if u agree
Please tell me im not the only one who noticed the cinematic parallels between shrek and the witcher
YES OMG YES !!! Jaskier is totally Donkey
everyone is talking about this but...
that scene with pavetta and duny??

for a while now iâve felt like david lynch is only impressive to people who never remember their dreams, and iâm starting to feel the same way about some ingmar bergman movies - hour of the wolf, wild strawberries. like, i get it, iâve had nightmares before, letâs move on already.Â
things that *feel* like pyramid schemes to me but probably arenât
having kids
education, especially math (âyou study math? so youâll be a teacher?â)
tech startups that are all about getting girls interested in techÂ
been thinking about anna delvey, elizabeth swaney, theranos, fyre festival, wework, juicero - I wonder if thereâs a scam--failure spectrum. where do you draw the line between overconfidence and lying?Â
- while listening to Everythingâs a scam - very ambivalent about the message (isnât that how you get elizabeth holmes?) but it sure is catchyÂ
anyway i wish there was a book/essay collection on the subject
links to things i read or thought about recently

https://slatestarcodex.com/2019/10/30/new-atheism-the-godlessness-that-failed/Â according to this theory new atheists turned into sjws â this fits my personal experience so thereâs that

also been thinking about how much data can actually tell you. kaggle has this competition to predict who survived on the titanic based on demographic data - the top entries all have accuracy of 100% (fair enough - predicting past events is a solved problem after all) but i assume thereâs plenty of entries with 90-95% accuracy by people who âplayed fairâ - and i wonder to what extent it is a case of overfitting - yes, you canât âuseâ the test data that is used to score the entries but you are allowed as many entries as you wish (10 submissions per day). even with 1 submission per person it seems to me that it means nothing that a specific approach âwonâ...it just happened to fit the test data best out of all the entries that were submitted. in fact, if everyone submitted a random prediction...one of them would have a high accuracy - doesnât mean itâs a good approach. how to solve this?

âYouâve read Foucault, right? âPouvoir-savoirâ. Thatâs it: thatâs the basis of many crushes, is that the person seems to have â has, maybe, power and knowledge that you want.âShe gives a one-shoulder shrug. âAnd so, what better way to get it?â

Acker was also Lotringerâs most recent serious ex-girlfriend at the time he got together with Kraus. In I Love Dick, Chris recalls reading inscribed in one of his books, âTo Sylvère, The Best Fuck In The World (At Least To My Knowledge) Love, Kathy Ackerâ, and realising she was âup against some pretty stiff competitionâ.
Kraus had admired this author, been influenced by her work long before they crossed paths. In the spirit of pouvoir-savoir and all that, to what extent did Lotringerâs connection to Acker factor into Krausâ desire for him?
She is momentarily thrown. âWell, I mean â Sylvère had a lot of other qualities besides being an ex-boyfriend of Kathyâs.â And she laughs.
After reading the above article & then realizing American Gods was dedicated to Kathy Acker & Delirium was kinda based on her, I kinda have a crush on her but also like Neil Gaiman more. Chris Kraus was onto something.
