summertime blues||henry&ana
âLetâs have a ball again, Henry. Itâs been quite a while hasnât it?â his dad had said about two weeks ago. There wasnât anything to celebrate. His father was just being annoying. He was on his whole girlfriend kick again. Henry didnât think it was late enough into his relationship with Ariel to say anything about it to his father. He was still feeling insecure about it, and he didnât want to deal with his father constantly nagging, âoh, is she pretty? Iâve heard of her family before, when did you meet? Did I set up the date? How long has it been? How serious have you gotten?â It was more stress than it was worth.
So he was humoring his father with a ball. The theme was summer, since this was the only theme that actually made any sense for the time of year. Henry was wearing dark blue pants and a matching tie. The dress code for today was only semi-formal, and he had recommended blues and pinks for the color scheme.
About a half-hour after the first guest had arrived, his father approached him with a (cute) girl (although she could have gone simpler with the makeup. It looked like she was trying to hard) and he had no choice but to start conversation.
âHello, dear. Is this party up to your standards?â
