This talented and jovial soul just made a young persons (YP) year tonight by responding to a hand written note that I was fortunate enough to be able to pass onto him this eve at the film’s wrap party. Being a bit old and uncool, I was not familiar with Dylan O’Briens work, that was until back at Resi Care today when a young boy I care for with Tourette’s put on ‘Maze Runner’, and I found myself pointing at the screen saying , ‘hey that’s that guy in the movie I just worked on! ‘ 😂 This of course bought endless delight to the YP who then decided that not only was I ‘not dumb but quite cool’, but that he would make Dylan a card and asked if I’d deliver it. I said I’d do my best even though it meant I’d be one of ‘those people’ at the party I never want to be, and explained to my YP how difficult it is sometimes for a famous actor who’s constantly asked on his free time to do stuff like this, so no promises, but that every effort would be made. But Dylan was so approachable, receiving and reading the card in full appreciation of the effort made and very funny about me not having a pen ready to go. When I found one he happily gave his autograph and said he cared for the guy. I cannot wait to tell our YP the story and give him this little momento, this keepsake, this treasured token of an unexpected connection with someone he admires. I remember what it did for me as a kid (and still does) , so I’m glad to know how much of a well needed boost he will get from it. Thank you Dylan! 🗝❤️ (source)
