tag urself as a student type
coffee: always frantic, has a crammed schedule, never stops consuming caffeine, will agree to go to a party even if they have a six a.m. shift the next day
bujo: organized, likes to makes lists and keep track of things, plans outfit the night before, stresses when they get a grade less than a B
oops: stopped caring in the third grade, somehow manages to get okay grades, never studies, kind of lazy, would eat Waffle House at 3 in the morning
sweatshirt: is trying as hard as they possibly can, has to study and work hard for their grades, constantly stressing, has social anxiety, tries to do every extra curricular under the sun
aesthetique: probably vegetarian or vegan, has a âmom jeanâ 80â˛s aesthetic, glorifies local cafes, wants to live in Europe, always wants to cut their hair
gothique: black clothes only, still stans my chemical romance, uses sarcasm as a defense mechanism, desperately wants some tattoos, likes the black lipstick look but too shy to do it
Ways to help exam anxiety
To prevent it:
1. Donât procrastionate
2. Make a clear, realistic plan - in my experice it is better it is better to make a broad plan when you are going to study something and then plan day by day. Make a to do list a day before with a few main tasks. It is better to sort of underestimate yourself and then do more if you can
3. Plan breaks and fun activities so you have something to look forward to
4. Examine your former mistakes - before exam season, think about times you when you felt really stressed and anxious and try to figure out the reasons for why and prevent them this time. Also think of times when you werenât anxious before an exam and try to figure out what you did right that time
In the moment if you are feeling overwhelmed:
1. Meditation - there is a lot of guided meditation apps out there, my favourite is Headspace, as well as tons of videos on youtube. Regular guided meditation can help you learn how to be more mindful and calm
2. Call someone - and importantly talk about something that doesnât cause you anxiety
3. Exercise - it releases endorphenes
4. Drink tea - something that my botany professor thaught us was to not underestimate the power of plants. Some teas that are proven to ease anxiety and stress are: peppermint tea, rose tea, lavander tea and chamomile tea
5. Play a short game - any game that will get your mind of it for a while. My mom told me that when she younger and was going through a really hard time she spwnt a lot of time playing tetris. Any game that doesnât require you to think is a good choice. I literaly play dress up games and old barbie.com games because they bring me back to a simpler time and make me think of my childhood
6. Paint your nails, have a facial, do your make up, clean you room- again, so you focus on something else for a while
7. Recognise your dark thoughts and imagine them as a spiral, going into a dark depths of an ocean and imagine yourself swimming out of it - sounds dumb but it works
Stay safe and donât feel guilty for taking care of your mental health
Happy studying!
i wanna be a mortician which means iâll have to deal with dead bodies on a daily basis and see some pretty fucked up shit and yet i cant do the dishes without wanting to puke
moral of the story: having to touch wet food is more disturbing than just about anything
why do ppl have to question the idea of an undertaking position?? itâs always 20q w ppl who are scared of the death industryâŚ
me: yeah i wanna go to school for mortuary science with an emphasis in embalming and cremation, and aâ them: whiGhâŚ. whoahâŚ. A Little Dark, Isnât Itâ˘? wouldnât you want to do something a little happier/less morbid/ect ect ect? me: :-)
is this the same with every morbid kid

Where I am Attending School
I will be attending Point Park University for their capstone program with The Pittsburgh Institute of Mortuary Science. This major will be three years at Point Park, and 1 year at the Institute. I will gain a bachelor of science degree in specialized professional studies, and I could earn both a diploma in embalming and funeral services as well as an associate in specialized business degree in funeral service management.
I havenât decided where I want to be licensed, yet. My top picks are: Washington, Oregon, California, or Maine.
A lot of the people I know, have asked me about this choice. âThatâs so morbidâ âYou donât seem the typeâ âwhy would you ever want to do that?â To put it simply, funerals are for the living. And I would like to help give the descedantâs family some peace.
The only 2 things I hear when I tell people Iâm going to mortuary school: 1. Well youâll never be out of work! 2. Well someoneâs gotta do it!
Embalming Final on Monday.
