- valentina sanchez: valentina is carlos’ manager and acts as a pseudo-antagonist in the industry half of the series (the series is actually man vs. self though— she’s not the real antagonist). she grew up in julia, michigan, and was good friends with carlos in high school, acting as part of his little “mean girl” squad, especially his senior year. she and her parents are immigrants from mexico, and she grew up quite poor and suffered abuse from her father. she dated an abusive guy in high school, something that led to her and carlos bonding without ever explicitly saying it. they also bonded over the experience of being some of the only hispanic people in a small town, and what it’s like to grow up with immigrant parents, etc— they are very similar in many respects, and got along very well in hs. valentina has been in love with her best friend, perri, since she was 13 (deeply in the closet), but had a minor falling out with her at the end of her senior year that led to them growing very distant for several years. right after graduating high school, she used money she had been saving for years to move to washington heights. her family didn’t have enough money to pay for college so she hoped to succeed in other ways in ny and also wanted to just get out of her small town and change her life. but upon arriving in nyc, she had to work several jobs to survive and keep herself afloat—she manages a corner store during the day, is a busser and night-shift porter at a club at night. on weekends, she occasionally helps out at a flower shop for extra cash.

- when she’s 21, after the owner of the club had been promising her the event promotion/marketing role at the club for a while, she gets passed up for the role and then let go. that same night, she sees carlos on the dance floor at the club, seeing him for the first time in 3 years. everything clicks into place— knowing he’s relatively pretty famous based off youtube, she approaches him and talks to him, and eventually lies to him and says that she’s an entertainment manager and would like to take him on. from then on, she acts as his manager. she often gets him into sticky situations in the name of the bottom line and promotion— any publicity is good publicity, and she’s going to work him and everyone else to the bone to make them as successful as possible; often, this is a major fault.

- what defines vale’s character is her intense need to survive. she’s spent her whole life surviving, and in turn dreaming and being ambitious. she is willing to do whatever it takes to get what she wants and succeed, with a major disregard to how that affects other people as long as she comes out on top. this leads her to be ruthless and cutthroat, very often, and very cunning and conniving. beneath that all, though, she is very empathetic and sensitive. she does care about carlos a lot, as well as perri, and has had a very hard life— but this softer inside leads to very tough exterior, and makes her even more determined to do whatever it takes to survive, even if she has to claw her way there. she takes no shit and is quite headstrong, but is also a manipulator with a silver tongue. she will defend those she loves tooth and nail, but will always protect herself first. again, her key trait is her desire to survive.

- maxine de la cruz: maxine is a friend of carlos’, a fellow influencer, and 24 as of 2026. she started streaming when she was 16 and is most famous on twitch, tiktok, and instagram (in an instagram baddie way). she became friends with carlos shortly after she started streaming, and they have been very close ever since, starting off by often doing collaborations and then growing as true friends from there. her following is significantly lower than carlos’, but she is incredibly determined to be famous and has been her entire life. she grew up in florida and her parents are mexican.

- she has been trained in dance since she was very young and did vocal lessons all throughout middle and high school. she is a powerhouse singer and performer but doesn’t often have opportunity to sing. when she’s 19, she moves to nyc to come on as one of carlos’ main backup dancers along with their other close friend, cuqui, as he starts to do performances and joins him on his first three tours. vale signs her and cuqui under her management in order to have further control over her. since being an influencer hasnt been successful enough to fully sustain her life and dancing with carlos isnt a constant, she works as a hair stylist, which she doesn’t quite enjoy. her real dream is to be a popstar, and she has all the talent but always fails to meet the mark.

- the crucial trait of her character is her ambition and her talent, and how she should have all that it takes to be a famous popstar, but there are constantly obstacles in her way. a big part of her story is how carlos, who doesn’t work even half as hard as her, gets so much credit and fame and attention so quickly just because he’s a man, and she works her ass off constantly and barely gets any credit because there are much higher expectations of women, especially in the music and performance industry. this leads to a lot of resentment towards carlos— as much as she loves him, she would kill to be in his place. think of the song brutus taken very literally— a woman who wants to be as renowned an artist as the man who’s place she’s desperately working to take, or at least match. tl;dr: if she was the man, she’d be the man, and she is perhaps the most ambitious girl ever and has been working all her life towards her dreams, to what seems like no avail because of patriarchal standards.

- she’s also in a situationship with isaac… smiles. it’s a years-running, off-and-on situationship that is the kind of “casual” relationship that your friend talks about constantly and keeps going back to but won’t leave no matter how much you beg her to. its supposed to be just sex, but they’re way too attracted to each other for it to ever be casual and that gets them in a lot of sticky and yearning-filled situations. it causes her a lot of stress on top of the rest of the stress in her life.

- carmela ‘cuqui’ silva: carmela, or cuqui, her affectionate nickname from family members since she was a toddler, is a gaming content creator and is 23 as of 2026. she is natively from argentina (though her father is venezuelan, so she’s half and half) and immigrated to the states (florida) at 15. she has been doing gaming content online since she was very young (13) and met carlos through that. when she graduates hs at 18, she moves to nyc to live with max and work with carlos as his second main backup dancer. english speakers assume her nickname is ‘cookie’ and typically address her as such, and her new handles made in america use the word ‘cookie’ often. her english can be choppy sometimes but as of 2026 she is pretty fluent (but prefers to speak in spanish when she can). she is aroace, on the far end of the spectrum, though uncaring to find specific labels for where she lies because she truly just doesn’t care for the dating/relationship world and has no interest in it when it comes to herself. she loves to gossip sweetly though.

- she has a background in musical theatre and dance, and is very content being a backup dancer for carlos, and she does not really seek a solo career. she likes getting to work with carlos and max, and likes the idea of continuing to dance in the future, whether with carlos or as an ensemble performer in the theatre world. she is not incredibly passionate about these dreams though, unlike her peers— her dreams instead lie in social activism, specifically dealing with immigration rights and helping those in poverty and in the lower economic class. she hopes to somehow make a change in the world, even if its a small step at a time.

- her key traits are her optimism and positivity. she is a ball of energy and fun, and is just in general a very kind and sweet girl. think of her as the pinkie pie in the group… she balances out all of their seriousness but also can be serious on her own, too. she views life as something to enjoy and loves to spread joy to those around her. her motto is to just enjoy everyday and do what you love.

- her faceclaim is Sort of alexis bledel but i wouldnt really be able to explain like How. like imagine alexis but much shorter (4’11) and much tanner and fake blonde and ??? curly hair okay

- perri dawson: perri is another one of carlos’ childhood friends, growing up in julia. she is 27 as of 2026. she was a cheerleader in high school along with vale, and sort of the mcnamara of the group. shes a bit shallow but not dumb at all. shes very self-centered and sometimes ignorant and naive; she often gets vale into bad situations and abuses the lines of their friendship. she worked as a stripper and a hooters waitress after high school (and failing out of her first year of college) and only moved to nyc when she was 22 after seeing vale was involved with carlos again and, seeking attention and fame, dmed vale and got in touch with her again… leading vale to cave and offer to sign her and try and get her a career. now, she’s trying to be the next out-of-touch influencer, and working (not especially hard) to be one of carlos’ backup dancers, occasionally joining him when need be. her faceclaim is sydney sweeney, specifically as cassie in euphoria.

- carlos starts a youtube channel in early 2015 at 15 years old

- he starts to pick up traction when he’s 16 and by the time he graduates high school he’s got about 2 million which increases significantly by the time he graduates high school. by the time hes 21 he has about 8 million on youtube. when tiktok gets popular, he also becomes a big face on that platform.

- at 21 (august of 2020), just after moving to new york city in june, he remeets a high school friend, valentina, at a bar. valentina remembers his old desire for a music career and helps him finally decide to pursue music. she offers to come on as his manager and help him to get signed.

- in november of 2020, he gets signed to island records. he starts taking songs he already has and starts to work on those and others for an album.

- at the end of august, 2021, cr1 releases

- from february to may of 2022, carlos does his first, 12 show tour in medium sized concert halls and premium theatres.

- in september of 2022 he takes a hiatus, assuming he’s going to be having a kid soon and wanting to spend all of his time with serena. this hiatus is only announced (without a given reason) by vale at the end of september. up until november 2022, he is still a bit active on tiktok and occasionally seen in public but not much. after nov 11, he disappears for a while. in his time on his own and away from the public eye/work, he spends his time writing music as a way to cope. most of it goes unreleased.

- around april of 2023, vale forces hus return back into the public eye. he starts working on an album

- in january of 2024, cr2 releases

- summer of 2024, carlos does a large arena tour for his second album.

- in 2024, he also starts playing every festival that allows him to play. this includes coachella and lollapalooza and whatever else. he starts putting on more widely seen/higher budget performances that will define his career/what hes known for. by this point, he has left youtube behind for the most part

- in august of 2025, his activity in the public eye starts to falter as his mental health starts on the decline that will eventually lead to his two attempts.

- after his motorcycle crash in february of 2026, he stops going to award shows and public appearances and isn’t very present as he’s healing. he posts occasionally online but isnt seen being active much at all. he had festivals he was supposed to do in 2026 but was unable to because of his injuries. his injuries serve as a good reason for his hiatus.

- in may 2026, in the days leading up to may 11th (attempt and hospitilization), he is completely MIA from the public and also all of his friends until july of 2026, when he finally appears again and starts posting a little and being seen in public a bit

- end of july, early august 2026, his relationship with neil is outed to the public. carlos confirms it soon after and also hints at working on his next album, which he has begun since dating neil (end of june)

theodore kingsley, or theo, is a forensic analyst at the alcombey police department with a strong sense of justice and a high regard for ethics and morals. he’s determined to fight for good in his town and is keen on using his intelligence to do so, as he deems that as his weapon. he’s a bit of a neat freak and is passionate about debate. for a long time, his only friend besides his family was nico, and honestly nico is still his only close non-familial relationship. he doesn’t care for labels but has only ever been interested in nico and, outside of nico, is not very interested in romance at all. he has a motorcycle license but only ever occasionally takes nico’s or his cousin aphrodites for a spin. he’s on the autism spectrum and his special interest is blood spatter analysis (a bit of a concerning thing for a child to be interested in but not out of character for the universe). if not with nico, he prefers to spend his time alone and working. he has a lot of opinions on nicos actions and behavior, but loves him regardless and is constantly warring internally about that. he also has several opinions on his relatives (main characters btw) but also loves them regardless. introvert

HELLO THANK YOU carlos’ childhood bedroom is very boyish? if that makes sense. it looks like a disney boy bedroom in a way. when he was younger it was def like very much like the main character of a disney shows bedeoom like masculine in a young boy way, lightning mcqueen bed, tons of sports memorabilia and decorations all over the walls, probably blue and red themed, etc. as a teenager it was more “cool 2000s older brother” but probably something youd still see on a disney show.. more soft pop punk type of decorations and things as he grows into that style as a teenager, very rodrick i guess, changes to red and orange, and no lightning mcqueen bed lol. his childhood bedroom still appears a lot in the present day whenever hes staying with his parents.. i would say its mostly the same as his teen years but probably has like PR flags and guitars and songwriting notebooks and things everywhere, etc. a big thing aboit his childhood and adult bedroom in manhattan are that his room has allwaayysss been messy and unclean no matter how old he is. love and hearts

neil had a very clean childhood bedroom. light green walls, not too many decorations, but lots of shelves where he displays trophys and figurines of birds and animals and awards and etc, tons of books and binders and notebooks and etc, all academic things you know and thinhs pertaining to his interests, and all kept incredibly neatly. the focus of his room is his desk. until he marries carlos, he lives in that childhood bedroom for his entire life… so as he gets older, it doesnt change too much but still grows with him. he displays his degrees in there and uses it as an office, and also takes care of a bunch of plants in there.

carlos’ dream, much to his own embarrassment, has always been to settle down. very ironic because of the verrryyy slutty bachelor life he once lived but its very true and i hope ive made it clear… his biggest dream has always been to settle down.. white picket fence and a nuclear family and a dog. that dream has also, for the most part, always been pictured with neil. but there were times that it was pictured with serena amd jolie, too, and even to the day he does marry neil and etc, he still pictures that family with serejolie often. but yes that is his dream… to settle down in love with a family.

thinking about this with summer is sooooo good… i think the dark, i think her closet, i think being alone. i think she struggles with isolation, still to this day, and struggles with not necessarily monsters lurking in the dark but just sort of the notion of not being able to see anything and being alone in a void? if that makes sense. i would say this circles back ti the death of her parents. also heights but not for any deep reason

okay so lucky for you ive actually been thinking about chip a bit lately because im pretty sure im going to make him a more prominent side character (great news for you 😁)! here are some random facts about him

1. he’s korean and black, and was actually born in texas before moving to julia, michigan (ok the town is fictional) at a young age

2. he also played little league baseball with the julia baseball boys (carlos, keith and isaac), but played for his own age group instead of theirs

3. while in high school, did cross country in the fall, played hockey in the winter and baseball in the spring. very active

4. he now plays hockey professionally and was drafted just out of high school. cant speak much on that though because all i know about hockey is from heated rivarly lol

5. he’s bisexual (but usually just calls himself queer) and is married to a man named ezra! ezra is the guy that chip is implied to have had a crush on in high school. they were mostly acquaintances back then and lab partners and what not but remet in their early 20s when chip was visiting julia. i think chip either plays hockey in new york (maybe jersey or rhode island? idk shit ab hockey) or canada, and ezra moved there from julia once they married

6. he is Very entertained by the fact that keith and carlos are brothers-in-law now. very entertained

7. still very close with both carlos and isaac, or really as close as they can be with their separate and very busy lifestyles. both were groomsmen at his wedding. mostly, his part in the story would relate to how close he still is with isaac, and he would typically come in when isaac does

8. wanted to go to school for law but instead got drafted for hockey, which he’s not complaining about obviously, but once he retires he wants to go back to school and get a law degree

9. he’s very energetic lol he’s like a little buzz ball. life of the party but in a different way than carlos. very sociable and loves to make friends

10. doesnt really take any bullshit though! very loyal and will Always stand up for himself and his loved ones. and definitely a little mischievous. “accidentally” in other people’s business all the time and always chirping on the ice rink

okay so i think they honestly go on a Lot of dates… and very romantic ones too, sort of classically romantic. i think they go out to dinner a lot and go to movies and just in general do things where priscilla can sort of just be the pretty girl who gets to do whatever she wants and keith can be the loyal and very chivalrous gentleman taking her out, because thats the roles they both like to play which is a big reason why they work so well. so for example, keith always likes to drive priscilla places so he can open her door for her and escort her out, and priscilla likes to be the passenger princess and dictate where they go, etc. that sort of thing.

priscilla also likes to go on dates to places with nice scenery so that she can have keith take pictures of her and such.. as i hope we know shes very vain and selfcenteted in a non malicious way, and keith is just honestly very healthily (nowadays) obsessed with her, and so he really quite enjoys doing things that revolve around her. so the nature walk is accurate for sure because she’d love keith to just carry her around the whole time and pause to take nice pictures, and keith loves to carry her and do whatever she says lol.

honestly though they really just can do anything and call it a date. they’re incredibly in love and also best friends first and foremost… they spend all of their time together except when they’re both working. they live and breathe each other but in a way thats not super obsessive or anything. while other parts of their relationship can border on “toxic” (i would argue they might be the most ‘toxic’ main couple in crvtw, second to petetilly) at times, their constant time spent with each other is not part of that.
