you’ll be standing, and he’ll come drifting into your space. just that bright little smile that means you’re about to get ambushed.

“come here,” he says, and before you can ask why, he’s already kissing your cheek. once. twice. three times in the same spot, like he’s stamping you.

you laugh, startled. “yuji!”

he switches sides immediately, kissing your other cheek with the same rapid-fire enthusiasm. then your nose, because he thinks it’s adorable when you scrunch it. then your forehead. then the corner of your mouth, like he’s saving the 'real' kiss for last.

you try to dodge, and he follows like it’s a game, hands on your waist, steering you back into place.

“stop moving!” he protests, laughing through it.

“you’re the one attacking me!”

“it’s not attacking,” he argues. “it’s affection.”

and he looks so happy doing it—eyes bright, cheeks lifted, all warmth and joy.

when you finally grab his wrists to stop the chaos, he freezes for a second, still grinning.

“what?” he asks innocently.

you narrow your eyes. “are you done?”

yuji leans in and steals one more kiss, right on the tip of your nose.

then he whispers, softer, “i just like you a lot.”

and it’s so genuine it steals the fight out of you. you sigh helplessly, “yeah, i can tell.”
