For context, my mom had brain surgery then a stroke last June. She was in a coma for a couple of months and now she’ll never be the same. She lives in a care facility and probably won’t ever be able to live on her own again. It’s been crushing for the past year

But I almost despise Christian music. Especially since I grew up with *stick up their ass* Christians. The ones that follow the bible to a T (like woman wearing skirts with 5 feet of snow outside. God isn’t sending you to hell for wearing pants) it was so judgy and gross as a teenager it kind of just ruins it for me. Even nowadays some people just ruin the image of Christianity. I don’t believe in going door to door to try to convert people, I don’t believe in hating anyone for, say it be their sexuality. I’m a Christian but I don’t force anyone into it, people are allowed to believe what they want to believe. To me, being a Christian is loving people no matter what. If we’re supposed to “love the unlovable” according to the bible, why be filled with so much hate?

Anyway, what my mom has gone through really tests my belief, I can’t help but be mad at God, why would he let this happen? Who knows. Because also if it weren’t for how things went, I’d still be dragged down by my toxic mom. Having control of my contact with her has been the best thing for me. She’s my mom and I love her, I sympathize with the situation but my mom seemed to believe I was only alive to serve her. Even still, in the state of mind she’s in, she believes I should be able to take her home and take care of her 24/7. I’m 24, and she can’t even go to the bathroom or stand up on her own, she can’t walk. I can’t do it, and that upsets her and that upsets me. I’ve lived with a lot of guilt about how things went after her surgery even though it’s not my fault. I feel bad for being able to live my life while my mom is in a care facility. She just turned 50. She’s so young.

It’s probably the Christian music I’m forced to listen to in this tire discount store but I’m so beyond crushed about and for my mom :(
