"No, you won't. Because you don't want to. You have never wanted to, Regulus."

"I've always wanted to, please hear me out." He tried to get a hold of him again, only to be pushed away once more.

“It’s your mother. Again,” James rolled his eyes, handing the phone over to Regulus who sighed, hitting the green accept button before holding the phone up to his ear.

“Hi, Maman.” He watched James cross his arms and stare at the ceiling angrily.

“Regulus, sweetheart! I thought I called James.”

“You did but he’s busy with the kids,” Regulus said, trying to keep his voice even. He reached out and ran a thumb over James’ knuckles which were turning white with how hard he was clenching his own arms.

“Oh! Well, darling, I called James earlier because you haven’t been answering my calls.”

“Yeah, Maman. I have your number blocked.”

“Well, that’s just silly. How am I supposed to get a hold of you?”
