showed my friend a sketchbook spread i just finished and she immediately dialed in on The Creature, then i promptly realized because i have not been sharing art much outside of prompt things,, she just. Had Not Seen them.

i've got some ideas for backstory and actual trope/dynamic inspiration for him, and am excited to see where the adventure takes us while i still get to tag along!

for my submission i knew i wanted to do something by/for Good Kid - i've been on a huge kick for their music since the release of Cicada and some other songs i didn't know were by them even before!! then they dropped Can We Hang Out Sometime a couple days ago and i have been FIENDING so, it was inevitable lol
i also included some warmup's for Cory's spin on the Gentu design before working on the piece, since crew and I decided he absolutely fits Eastside's music video
we got a fun collection of entries already, this has been one of the most active prompts to date since we first started, and i am enjoying it so much <3
if motivation carries? i have even more along this prompt i wanted to try for even more characters, because i always adore the concept and exercise!!

a design i'd whipped up off a concept i used back in 2022,,, one of the biggest design 180s and dynamic overhauls i've done (so far) i think

i ended up parsing out the details from the old design and further refining them, adding a bit more characterization to the OG concept!!
their echo isn't their own form, but rather the personification of their fallen friend (who he was deeply in love with, but didn't know if it was unrequited) instead of a second shadow of himself, it's an echo of her that they carry with them. what that means,, well,,,,,,
i haven't had the chance to play her in any campaign or oneshot yet, but i've had a lot of fun with their concepts! i think the level of grief, love, dependancy, and desperation that would be played out in this possible PC concept would be wild.
as for redesign details though, i had taken the lighter colors and sharps of the OG design and incorporated them into the 'Fallen's design!
and then honed in on the armored vibe, more cohesive colors, and aesthetic themes i had wanted for the OG echo knight. i also wanted to explore more into possible details to really tie things together, and with all the small pieces that fell into place? i'm honestly quite pleased with how i executed it in the end uvu
and, ofc,,, i can't neglect the scar mapping.
anyway. i really really like character concepting and creation, if people couldn't tell! maybe it'll become apparent as i actually post on this blog, maybe not, idk.

They can be found at the library, helping at their moms' tea shop and apothecary, slinking over to the nearby forests and graveyards, or trying to outrun the local butterfly populus!
it's very uncommon, and i mean VERY, that you will find them without their plague mask and gloves on. please do not try to get them to take it off, or force them. it will not inspire confidence or comfort.
