Prilla Clapp — Twenty — Student — Magical
Name: Prilla Cho Clapp Nicknames: N/A Age: 20 Height: 5′0″ Sexuality: Bisexual
Prilla's optimism is a force to be reckoned with; positivity has power, and that's something she's lived by all her life. When you could choose to lift others up by your words and actions or tear them down, she sees no reason to spread any more negativity in the world than already exists.
When she discovered her magical ability of bringing energy to those around when she claps, it was surprising at first, but also made complete sense. All she's ever wanted was to leave a little more joy in the world than when she found it, and what she calls her "talent" allows her to do just that.
The quote, "Having a soft heart in a cruel world is courage, not weakness," is her to a T.
Prilla loves kids and is very good with them. She's done baby-sitting and nannying for years and would have considered a future in childcare or even teaching if she hadn't fallen in love with drama. It's still great for her do while paying her way through school, because she enjoys it as much as the kids do.
She's very proper when it comes to speech—it's always "miss" and "sir" and "please" and "thank you." That was just how she was raised. But she is physically a very active person, rather than being restrained. She has a lot of energy and is often getting it out with gymnastics and acrobatics, sometimes even cartwheeling in public if there's nobody/nothing in the way.
Prilla has been a sort of outsider her whole life, so she's used to getting weird looks from the way she talks, the way she dresses. She knows by now that there's no use in conforming to anybody's idea of "normal" because not one person is completely normal themselves. It was harder to understand that when she was a child, and other kids could be exclusionary, but now that she has plenty of friends who like her just for being her, she's more confident.
When she didn't have many friends in primary, middle and most of high school, one of the things she really missed out on was having slumber parties and sharing clothes with best friends, talking about crushes or just having a group to sit with at lunch when the rest of the grade seemed to have somebody to talk to. Rani's friendship was really important to her, because even if it was just the two of them, it was nice to have someone there for her.
Because she knows what it's like to be on the outside and made to feel like you were unimportant, she hates anyone else to feel that way. Everybody has something to offer the world, even if they think it's only a small difference. She goes out of her way to make friends and try to cheer people up when they're down.
The one thing she has a problem with is knowing when to stop. Because she wants to make everyone happy, she has a hard time saying no. She'll do any favor for a friend, and sometimes they'll pile up and she'll wind up burned out, but unable to set boundaries and take time for herself because she doesn't want to disappoint anybody. Vidia is the one friend she has who will be straight with her and tell her not to be such a door-mat and to look out for herself once in a while.
Prilla is a big foodie. She loves eating and is not shy about it; if one of her friends (Dulcie) bakes a batch of rolls or muffins, she wants to be the first to know, and she's also the one to always take left-overs home when possible.
