Press "Purpose" for Life

Yesterday, I was able to face a mental wound I'd been unable to heal for ten years. I made a decision the night before, and reinforced it the morning of, that I was going to deal with it no matter the consequence. Every year I have to meet with a person, and I would overthink the ordeal leading up to it, and feel powerless during the interaction. But the more I've become self-aware the more I understand it is not about the other person. It is the version of the person inside of me that I have to deal with. Throughout the experience I remained calm and open-minded to what my truth was in seeing the situation unfold and play out. It was all in me determining the outcome and I choose assertiveness and diplomacy. And I walked away feeling stronger and healed. For that I am grateful.
