Who is the one teacher you had that sparked you to learn more or changed your life? - For me that was Mr Rolland who was and still is the computer science teacher at my high school in South Florida - Starting my freshmen year Mr. Rolland pushed me to pursue science and technology starting with web design and how to build computers - He let me use his classroom as an escape from issues at home and was always available to talk - I do not think I would be where I am today if it was not for him and his confidence that technology was my future wherher I liked it or not - When I was 16 he nominated me to attend a technology conference in California Bay Area that opened my eyes of how our world was about to change - He was the spark that helped me to start my first business in high school which was flipping textbooks and repairing computers which I did to help pay my family’s mortgage - This photo is from the first time I saw him in almost a decade - He said “Moments like these and hearing what i am doing today are the reason why he wakes up every morning and brings him more joy than anyone could ever imagine.” - I am grateful to all the teachers and professors I have ever had, but it is clear when one goes above and beyond to make a difference such as Mr. Rolland did (at Archbishop McCarthy High School)
