"Lady, what beguiles me would make you sick."
imagine you’re HANNAH EINBINDER and you have JEAN SMART and GILLIAN ANDERSON vying for your affection
can you just imagine being ava though?
like, you’ve spent years tangled up with this seemingly monster of a woman—yearning for her, fighting with her, letting her drive you absolutely mad. she once even told you she’d risk losing you if it meant securing her dream job. she’s crossed lines before, and though you know in your heart you’d always forgive her, you doubt that she’d actually give it all up for you given she’s never done that for anyone. and then just as you’re driven to the edge by her, she tells you she’ll make it right this time, and she doesn’t just say it—she actually means it and proves it. she quits the very dream she built her life around, because she chooses you instead. and more than that, she stands on live television and declares that you are the one thing she won’t sacrifice. this woman who once said “there is no line” decides on national television that you. are. the. line. she calls you her creative partner, but you hear the truth threaded underneath—voice, life partner, soulmate, the voice she’s claimed as her own. and this is coming from her, this absolute menace of a woman who has rarely told anyone she loves them, least of all an employee. you’ve carried the impossible hope that maybe she could change, even as everyone else told you to give it up. and then she does. she changes, for you. she chooses you. not her daughter, husband, sister, or friends or employees, but you. she tells the world you are someone she loves, and you know she means every word. this woman, who once refused to belong to anyone, has finally decided that you and no one else are her entire world.
i mean, i’m sorry, but how am i supposed to be normal about that and then read it as some non-romantic, non-sapphic/wlw/queer love?
