Meanwhile the Young Prince sat outside his black pavilion, drinking from his silver goblet and rising from time to time to mount his horse and vanquish yet another undistinguished foe. He had won nine victories, but it seemed to Dunk that every one was hollow. He is beating old men and upjumped squires, and a few lords of high birth and low skill. The truly dangerous men are riding past his shield as if they do not see it.

Lady Dyanna Dayne was noblewoman of House Dayne of Starfall. She became the wife of Maekar I Targaryen, and was Princess of Summerhall through marriage to Maekar. She is the mother of Daeron, Aerion, Aemon, Aegon, Daella, and Rhae Targaryen. Unfortunately Dyanna died well before 209 AC, before Maekar’s accession to the throne. Thus, she was never able to be Queen Consort. She was Maekar I Targaryen’s only wife.

As he approached the viewing stand to make his salute, Dunk saw the face beneath the raised visor, and recognised the prince he'd met in Lord Ashford's stables. "Of the Red Keep of King's Landing, son of Maekar, Prince of Summerhall of House Targaryen, grandson to King Daeron the Good, the Second of His Name, King of the Andals, the Rhoynar, and the First Men, and Lord of the Seven Kingdoms."

For a few days it was feared that Storm's End might suffer the same fate as Harrenhal, for Argilac's daughter Argella barred her gates at the approach of Orys Baratheon and the Targaryen host, and declared herself the Storm Queen. Rather than bend the knee, the defenders of Storm's End would die to the last man, she promised when Queen Rhaenys flew Meraxes into the castle to parley. "You may take my castle, but you will win only bones and blood and ashes," she announced...but the soldiers of the garrison proved less eager to die. That night they raised a peace banner, threw open the castle gate, and delivered Lady Argella gagged, chained, and naked to the camp of Orys Baratheon.
