I was thinking about the midwinter’s tale and I noticed that the moment that Gryla and Zelda fought over baby Leticia was based on a biblical story.

There’s two women arguing about who is the real mother and king Solomon proposes to cut the baby in two so both women can have the baby. The real mother don’t accept this while the other woman agrees. This is basically what happened in the show. Zelda preferred to let Leticia live than fought with Gryla and cause any harm to the baby.

Zelda’s the real mother. And now I’m crying. Again.

That was exactly what I thought when Diana proposed for them to do that. I thought 'Zelda's not gonna do it, she cares too much about Leticia to hurt her, she's the one who deserves her'

Zelda: I never understood why people liked having babies so much until I had a baby of my own. I’ve only been looking after Leticia for half an episode but if anything happened to her I would kill everybody in this room and then myself.

A Midwinter’s Tale - CAOS

Some opinions:

- Zelda playing peek-a-boo with Leticia was everything I hoped for and more. - Diana Spellman is a queen for having the idea of enchanting the teddy bear and tricking Gryla. - Gryla’s story had a weird resemblance to Zelda’s, except the deceased son (maybe I’m way off). - The Lads were little shits but they made me laugh. - Zelda crying made me cry. And she should keep the baby because no one loves that baby more than Zelda. - I want Hilda’s cookies. - I think Madam Satan somehow likes Sabrina. Am I way off? She doesn’t seem to want to harm her.

Ps: Zelda is a mother. I felt so sad and angry when Gryla attacked her saying she was not a mother… WELL EXCUSE ME… Who raised Sabrina? Cared for her and protected her?

So I just watched the Christmas special and oh my god. And I just love Zelda Spellman even more now. She is actually the most maternal out of everyone. We saw a little with Sabrina but how amazing was it to see her with baby Leticia. She just puts up a front, a very good one at that but she is one big mama bear. And we also found out that she actually feels guilty for never really building a family connection with Diana. She has so many layers and Miranda Otto just freaking kills it, she is so talented it’s a fucking joke. Eowyn was my hero growing up and just seeing her back on the mainstream on a show like this, makes me SO happy.

But I do wonder what her relationship with Father Blackwood is going to be like in the future. Since you know, she took his first child and all that. Anyways, can’t wait for april!
