Wait, no symphonic version this time??? >:C
Ok so, the reason for this was just that we were pushed for time and I didn't want to compromise on the album proper for the sake of generating a load of bonus material. I'm sorry to disappoint those of you who enjoy listening to the orchestral versions, but I thought an album was probably better than no album
I'm sad that we don't get the symphonic version this time around, but I'm happy that we're getting an album, so I won't complain! Though I am curious to know if there will still be orchestral backing (if maybe less rich than in previous albums?) on the tracks, or if you guys are switching to focusing more on the foreground instrumentals now. Both are good, of course, but I've always been a fan of your work on the orchestral versions, and they always add so much depth and atmosphere to the music as a whole. Either way, thanks for the clarity on the matter. Excited to see you guys live in November! I'll be coming from western Canada to visit a friend in England, and dragging her with me to the London show.
The goal has always been to get both band and orchestral parts to coexist effectively in the same space, which obviously involves a degree of compromise. This time round I wanted to focus on doing whatever sounded good in the full mix rather than worrying if the orchestral parts would sound like a complete piece of music in isolation. Almost like treating the guitars etc as just another part of the orchestra.
