The few owls that managed to battle their way through the stormy sky to deliver post had to be nursed back to health by Hagrid before they could fly off again. No one could wait for the holidays to start. While the Gryffindor common room and the Great Hall had roaring fires, the draughty corridors had become icy and a bitter wind rattled the windows in the classrooms. ”

After Dumbledore’s death, Fawkes took off. He lived alone in the Forbidden Forest. He returned in the middle of the Battle of Hogwarts to help. After the war, Fawkes stuck with Harry. Harry adopted him, and Fawkes’s loyalty now lies with Harry, and the rest of the Potter family.

“oh well, he always made a fool of himself whenever lily was around,” said sirius, shrugging. “he couldn’t stop himself showing off whenever he got near her.” “how come she married him?” harry asked miserably, “she hated him!” “nah, she didn’t,” said sirius. “she started going out with him in seventh year,” said lupin. “once james had deflated his head a bit,” said sirius. “and stopped hexing people for the fun of it,” said lupin.
