The Destruction of Nature is the Cause of Pandemics
[A photo explaining statistics on how pandemics affect nature.]
The Destruction of Nature is the Cause of Pandemics
In recent decades, people have increasingly infiltrated the natural world, resulting in rapidly increasing levels of contact between humans, livestock and wildlife. As a result, the frequency and number of new zoonotic diseases, originating in animals and transmitted to people, has risen drastically over the last century. Every year, around three to four new zoonotic diseases are emerging. These new diseases constitute a grave threat to human health, causing deadly pandemics including HIV/AIDS, Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome (SARS) and most recently COVID-19.
The increased emergence of zoonotic diseases is linked to two widespread environmental risks:
1.    Our unsustainable food systems:
Many recent pandemics, including COVID-19, have been linked to the high-risk trade and consumption of wildlife in markets and restaurants. The aftermath of these are that increased exposure to animal pathogens at the interface between nature, humans and livestock, and increased vulnerability to animal pathogens, which influenced the increased risk of zoonotic disease emergence.
2.    Our illegal and high-risk trade and consumption of wildlife:
Land conversion for food and livestock production is destroying and fragmenting natural habitats around the world. The consequence of these is that it increases our vulnerability to animal pathogens, which results to broader negative environmental consequences, including climate change and biodiversity loss.
Now is our time to take immediate steps to prevent future pandemics, and to support systemic changes that will protect the health of both the planet and people over the long term by:
1.    Stopping illegal, unregulated and high-risk wildlife trade and consumption:
Policymakers should take steps to halt the sale and trade of high-risk wildlife species, which creates dangerous opportunities for zoonotic disease spillover.
2.    Supporting sustainable food systems that stops violation on nature:
Limit the impacts of COVID-19 on people and nature by ensuring agricultural deforestation and conversion does not increase as immediate food security is pursued.
3.    Building a more sustainable relationship between people and nature through sustainable and just economic recovery approaches with defined and holistic goals:
Develop economic recovery packages that respond to immediate needs while building long-term resilience.
To summarize, human activities destroys nature which results to creating zoonotic diseases (pandemics). These diseases pose a grave threat to human health. The increased emergence of zoonotic diseases is linked to two widespread environmental risks: our unstoppable food systems, and our illegal and high-risk trade and consumption of wildlife. To prevent future pandemics, we should start on stopping illegal, unregulated and high-risk wildlife trade and consumption, supporting sustainable food systems that stops violation on nature, and building a more sustainable relationship between people and nature through sustainable and just economic recovery approaches with defined and holistic goals.

Providing for your Pets in your Will – Sample Will provisions and Pet Trusts

Providing for your Pets in your Will – Sample Will provisions and Pet Trusts
In making an estate plan and preparing for the future, most are careful to account for all their assets and personal possessions in their will, but what about your pets? If you're a pet owner – and you do not include them in your estate planning, your pet may suffer, starve, or destined to a fate that you would never have wanted. Sometimes, and because formal arrangements are not in the making, a pet owner will merely entrust his animal to a close friend or family member by some informal means. We can all envision how that scenario might play out in the worst of circumstances. Even in the best of those circumstances, the pet's new owner may not be able to keep the pet because of allergies, lack of time, conflict with other pets, or a prohibition of pets in residence. A pet owner's only assurance is to draft legally enforceable documents to guarantee the pet's future.
Happy day to everyone!🌿
The Advantages and Disadvantages of Online Classes
[A photo of a girl, in a call with her class to learn, writing.]
The Advantages and Disadvantages of Online Classes
During this pandemic, almost all of us students have online classes; it is a brilliant idea on the part of the Department of Education, but online classes have advantages and disadvantages. First of all, not all of us have a reliable and strong internet connection to aid us during our online classes; this makes online classes hard to access. Next, other students don't even have a gadget to participate in the online classes; most of these students can't even afford a device to use. On the other hand, online classes are also a great way to keep students busy learning while this pandemic is still afoot. With all those said, online classes should be adjusted so that everyone doesn't have a hard time participating.

Why You Should Not Support #YesToAcademicFreeze
[A photo of a boy, confused whether he should do online classes, flexible learning, or academic freeze.]
Why You Should Not Support #YesToAcademicFreeze
#YesToAcademicFreeze is very biased to those who are privileged. Only worrying about the deadlines of a task pretty much reflects how lucky you are in this time of crisis. Being privileged means having the resources and the capacity to live somewhat like nothing happened. However, not everyone is like that. For students, some are not lucky enough to have a string and stable connection as you, or the gadgets needed for online classes. Some have to rely on printed modules and happened to live in a remote area. For teachers, they may lose their job, their only source of income that let them survive in this pandemic. Not everyone has the capacity to live comfortably especially with the pandemic today.

Productivity and Time Management
Being able to do work and  be productive these days, especially because we are just stuck at home is like a hard thing to do. We are in our comfort zones, and we could just lay on our bed all day and do nothing. It’s up to you if you want to really get things done or not. Not being able to practice time management would make your life chaotic, just like mine. Since, I’m still adjusting to this new normal, new set-up of learning and all that. It was pretty tough. These past few months, I just felt like I really did nothing at all. And also, this new set-up of learning or this whole online learning thing, we need to properly manage our time for us to meet the deadlines. Something that helped me to get things done was having a planner or just listed down the things you need to do and their due dates. It could be a notebook or even just a piece of paper you could write on, or it could also be digital; it’s up to you. I write all the deadlines of a specific subject and also the chores I need to do. I did this so I could somehow sort things out and to lessen chaos in my life. It somehow helped me and enabled me to be productive without even doing loads of stuff. For me, being productive is not being able to do a lot of things, but instead, it is able to get things done, like the ones you’ve set to do on that specific day. It’s more about being able to do what you aimed to be done. All I could say is that practice time management so that you could be productive, get things done, make every second count, but of course, you don’t need to do all the stuff in just one day. Take some breaks, rest, and don’t forget to take care of yourself. This pandemic and being stuck at home, this could be our chance to get our life together, to be the best version of ourselves if we’d get things done, and rather not be lazy just like me.
