-oh my god montoya wants barbara soooo badly it's simultaneously embarrassing and funny

-penguin is back in town and newly employed! i really like that he is willing to use everything to his advantage, including playing up how weak he seems so he can strike when their guard is down. sneaky penguin

-the newswoman not trying to rescue shitty man ceo but instead just report on it as it happens right in front of her was 1) hilarious, 2) a very good representation of gotham at large, and 3) impressive. she is here to get the SCOOP a la freddie lounds

-i love how pinkett reads her lines. i totally buy that fish just talks like that. when you combine the way her and gertrude speak, it suddenly makes a lot of sense that oswald talks so oddly.

-adding on to that, i love how distinct everyone's voices are.

-alfred is trying so hard to be there for bruce :( he's a single mom who works two jobs, loves her kids etc etc

-i do like this alfred, he seems more... real? than other alfreds? (i've only seen two other alfreds, sixties and keaton). he cares about bruce, but doesn't always know how to (being passive aggressive about bruce not eating and getting frustrated by bruce's 'training' and investigative work) and i think that makes him feel more human. granted, the others were dealing with adult bruces

-bruce and alfred's relationship is just really interesting and i'm excited to see it develop!

-barbara is like jim's no 1 supporter lol and for what

-"everyone has to matter or no one matters. otherwise people lose faith and that's how you get vigilantes" the first sentence is like jim's philosophy entirely, and the second is just batman foreshadowing. i do like prequels for this reason; it feels like you and the writers are in on a joke that the characters aren't

-on the other hand, harvey's "leave me in a room with him and he'll be guilty" is a really good summation (did i use that correctly?) of his philosophy, along with the line about people killing cops threatening job security. he wants to keep his job and doesn't particularly care whether or not the case gets actually solved, he just wants it closed.

-i love fish's outfits and hair and makeup, no one does it like her (until maybe oswald)

-harvey and jim being surprised when the guy says that the bodies will turn up because the balloons will come down is so funny to me. that and jim latching onto the dude as he's being carried away by the balloon. jim! just shoot the balloon! they are the stupidest people istg

-also they definitely had hate sex while drunk at some point

-jim quickly correcting himself when he tells balloonman that things will get better if the police do their jobs ("and we will. I will.")

-OZZIE!!!! why does he stand like that. whats his deal.

favourite part was probably bruce and alfred. i just think they're cute :3
