I’m so glad I don’t have to move out of my loft and to somewhere that actually snows. I guess LA is stuck with me for a few more years or so.

As if we’ll see you that much, with all your travel.  But I’ll take what we can get. 

I know I said it already, but I’ll say it again, I’m so proud.   For I know the plans I have for you,” says the lord. “They are plans for good and not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope.

Not quite yet pops, still got a little ways until it’s official that I’ll be with the big dogs. I don’t know how I could ever repay you and mom for all the sacrifices you two made for me to get where I am now. 

Please, the fact that you are even in the draft means you are in the top tier, the guys who wanted it enough and delivered when it mattered.  At this point there are going to be politics and factors that come into play that you can’t control.  But your work got you here and I hope you take a moment to really, really relish this.  And you did it without compromising who you are, without letting your grades slip, without getting lost in the glamour and the girls and the drink.  I’m not just proud of you, I’m proud to be your dad.  

We didn’t do much, just what any family would do  for a talented kid like you.  You would have found a way with or without us - we’re just glad to have gotten a front seat to see you get here.  

You okay, in the homestretch here?  I’m sure you’ll land some place terrific.
