i wonder if people thought this was cute or something before the pandemic . its such a grotesque thing to see portrayed in a positive light holy shit

waow i dont really know much about how these things ACTUALLY worked but to me it feels like zero one is a shifting point for the aesthetics and rhythm of action scenes that make reiwa stuff look so different from mid-to-late heisei stuff (which is already insanely different from early heisei), with the big slow motions and more frequent use of impact frames and a more mobile camera work with sharp angling and stuff. feels a little more exaggerated i think? i guess they wanted to go towards a more Dynamic™ direction in the new era. which makes me feel like the way a lot of the ex-aid action scenes were made in a way that seems kinda ahead of its time? i think it definitely felt a little closer to this than to other its adjacent shows!! but of course these things change for each director since each of them have their own style etc. however all these changes do feel more present now, like they've been paying close attention to each other's works. but i havent really seen that much of reiwa rider to actually know what im talking about!!!
